Ovaries... exploded.

This is my first title by Jennifer Probst and I am already looking forward to my next one!

Tristan and Sydney were the perfect match for a second chance romance. There was a moment where I felt the story was about to become predictable and Tristan completely surprised me, FOR THE BETTER.

Also once their conflict arose I was pleased that Tristan sat with his anger and didn't just give in, usually when it's in reversal we experience the woman being so angry and we don't see often the other end. I loved that their relationship began at such a young age but wasn't able to endure (at the time) what life pushed at it, it made their return to one another feel so charged physically and emotionally.

Is it too soon to listen again?!

Shame if this ends series

I waited for this story and wasn't disappointed. It was a hefty secret and unfathomable that it was dealt away rather quickly, but still a cute story. Thankfully the child in the story was not obnoxious or take over. If I have one complaint is that "claiming" was over used. Otherwise, sweet.

Warning! Serious triggers!

This series was mediocre at best, and I was debating whether to keep it or return it as I started this final book. There is a scene in this book, however, that I found so offensive I will definitely be returning the series. When a woman says no, that means no. I don’t care if the author tells me her body wants him. That is irrelevant. No means no, for whatever reason. Now, rape happens and if you write about it that’s fine, but don’t call it seduction or lovemaking and act like it’s ok. That is the deepest betrayal possible and a contributing factor to rape culture. Not only will I be returning this series and never purchasing another book by this author, as a survivor I felt it was necessary to call out this harmful behavior and warn others who might be triggered by this book.

So disturbed by the blackmail and rape in this book

I don’t usually write reviews, but I had to. I read the first 2 books in this series and enjoyed them. I despised this book! It is not romantic to make someone marry you by threatening to take away their daughter. Then we she tries to sleep apart to force her to sleep with you and finally to physically tape her when you wanted sex. I am shocked and disappointed in this book. I hope women aren’t put in this position and if they are that they go straight to the police! Change the story line please and show some respect for women!

Female narrator grating

Female narrator would be great for textbook narration, but not a fiction with a character that required warmth and vulnerability. I continually skipped over female narration, so I probably missed some important parts of the book. Had to, I wanted to jump out of my skin during choppy, monotone, stilted narration. UPDATE: I had to toss this back midway through. I couldn't take narration any longer.

Not as good as the first two

I loved the first two books and couldn't wait to listen to this one. I was pretty disappointed. It just wasn't as good. One minute they are in the now and 2 seconds later it's a flash back and you're like what happened? Not seamless at all. And they spent way too much time talking about the past. Also, the female narrator was terrible, especially when doing the male voice. I turned the book off half way through.

Breaking down the builders walls

I am enjoyed The last installment of the builders series. Jennifer captured through Tristian and Sydney's relationship how emotional scars can hinder a relationship. I identified with Sydney how she loved Tristan unconditionally but Tristan could not love her back because of his walls of trust and betrayal. Even though their physical relationship was awesome at some point Sydney had to respect her self and walk before losing her self. I got the life lesson that great sex without love won't last. Madeline and Sebastian's performances were stellar as always. Love this family.
