Publisher's summary

New York Times best-selling author Stephanie Laurens is adored for her titillating Regency romances that have garnered her countless fans.

Gyles Rawlings, the Earl of Chillingsworth, is a man determined to stay in control of his destiny. Even as he vows to wed a dutiful, blue-blooded lady for the purpose of fostering progeny, he deviously plans to fulfill his most sinful pleasures with a brazen strumpet. But standing at the altar on that fateful day, he unexpectedly finds himself falling in love with his beautiful bride-to-be.

Savor another Cynster novel.

Stephanie is great and I love Simon!

Stephanie as always is entertaining and Simon’s voice is the best. Just what you are looking for in a racy historical romance.

SL&SPlover

I love the story and the narration. These two people should have been together on all of her books. Prebble has a way with bringing a story to life. Ms. Lauren's writes lovable and fantastic stories you feel the urge to read over and over keeping you interested in what and who is next!

Good read

Love the main characters, Gyles and Francesca. The attraction between them is immediate and hot. Gyles struggled not to love his wife but fails miserably. How they come together is a solid story. I enjoyed it very much.

Outstanding Narration

Simon Prebble's narration raises the passion and mystery of all Ms Lauren's book to the highest level of entertainment. His subtle changes of tone and volume make each character recognizable and understandable. I search out his narrations.

Another great listen by a great author.

I can't understand why this story got so many negative reviews. I found it wonderful. The plot was very good. I loved the H/h. They kinda fell in love at first glance though they fought against it tooth and nail. I loved the sexy times they had. If you don't like sexual descriptions, try other authors who write wonderful clean and sweet stories. Like one of the reviewers said. Do not compare one book to the other. Every story is different - as it should be. Simon Prebble once again was perfection. Five stars and highly recommended.

My second favorite!

Nothing compares to the first but this was excellent. If I had one complaint, really not a complaint just a suggestion, there’s too many love scenes. They become tiresome after a while. The suggestion of romance leading up to their encounters would be just as alluring.. outside of the first few love scenes.

Chillingworth gets the curse

Chillingworth has needled the Bar Cynster through each one’s courtship and marriage and we get his story as an honorary Cynster.
Giles Frederick Rawlings, 5th Earl of Chillingworth has decided he will NOT marry for live like those foolish Cynsters. He must marry to provide an heir and a spare for the Earldom, but he’s contracting for a marriage of convenience. Except Chillingworth trips himself up through his own stubbornness and distancing, and finds himself married to the fiery Francesca.
I’m not a fan of story tropes that involve so many misunderstandings but Laurens makes it work. It’s a good segue from the Bar Cynster stories to the wider Cynster cousins.
Prebble equals excellent narration.
