Cat has never been a social butterfly. The only reason she even agreed to go to the stupid Halloween party was because her friend and roommate Shelly wanted to attend. When she gets spooked upon almost falling into bed with the host, she's convinced it was all a big mistake. And what's worse, now people are stalking her wherever she goes!
Alexander Broderick has been hosting his annual Halloween parties for over a century. While his contemporaries use them as an excuse to engage in all kinds of debauchery, his own motives are more benign. He wants to converse, to get a feel for the times they live in through its people. But when Cat walks into his house, he forgets himself and is compelled to seduce her. There's only one problem: she's a so-called Blood Bride - a mortal woman whose blood smells so delicious that every vampire in town wants to drain her.
He knows he's the only one wanting to keep her safe, but can't act as long as she wants nothing to do with him. And then there's his own growing hunger to contend with. Can he protect her from the rest of the vampire community, as well as his own lethal cravings?
It's the ultimate forbidden romance; the love between a mortal and a vampire. What is it that makes flirting with death so utterly tempting? Listen and find out.

I got this book via audiobook boom. I loved this story. When you read the synopsis you expect one story but you get a very different one that is so much better. I did not expect Alexander and Cat to end up like they did but it was wonderful. I love a story when the villain tries to force the H to go against his principles and the villain is stopped in the process. Although the villain is the top vampire and only wants Cat to drain her blood or so you ar led to believe but his final speech leads you to perhaps think that he is just lonely. What is the real story behind Jullian's desire for a blood bride? Well, perhaps in future books we will find out.
I received this book via Audiobook Boom and I really enjoyed it. It was a short quick read but it made me realize how much I miss Vampire books.
Cat was invited to a party not knowing the host or anything about it and when she arrived she met a mysterious man who intrigued but frightened her. You find out things about Cat that draws Alexander and the other vampires to her. As with many Vampire books you learn about their rules and their counsel and what they must follow and even with this being a short book it covered all those bases.
Cat , the female lead, agrees to go to a Halloween party where she notices a beautiful man, Alexander, the host of the party.
There is an instant attraction between the two and Alexander offers her a tour of his home.
Cat is afraid of the uncanny resemblance of Alexander and the man in a painting that she had been admiring and it causes her to abruptly leave the party.
Cat and Alexander, both, cannot stop thinking about each other afterwards.
This story moves at a rather quick pace and I am interested in the second book, Michael's Soul Mate.
Gethyn Edwards, he did really well with the narration.

It's up there, top 20%. I enjoyed the performance of it.
Alexander.. That he found someone and wanted to protect her.
Very much.. I love good British narrators.
When Cat showed up at his door, unexpectedly
The book was quite short, so a quick listen, but because it was short, there seemed to be some things missing.. I would have liked the book itself be in more detail.
Otherwise, it was a good gothic type of listen and really enjoyed it.

I received this book for free in order to give an honest review. I found the story short but interesting. A few twist on the regular vampire stories. Good flow and narrative done well.
I was given this book for an honest review through Audiobook Boom.
I love the new twist added to the vampire romance genre. Blood Brides. Cool. Although the story lacked substantial depth, it was coherent and fast paced. One of the chapters seemed to end unexpectantly and I'm not sure if I was missing a part of the book or not.
The narration was good. He has a "Masterpiece Theater" voice which IMO wasn't the best for the female voice but was acceptable and didn't interfere with the flow.
Hot and sensual, the story will have to continue in another book. Although not an abrupt cliffhanger, it did leave a wide open door for what needs to happen next.
I kept seeing promos for this one and though I haven't picked up vampire anything in a while, the premise intrigued me. Neat concept, enjoyed the deviation from my normal fare, and it was refreshing to have a paranormal that WASN'T a cliffhanger, serial, saga of epic proportions. The narrator had a lovely voice with a niiiice accent too. The book wasn't deep or angsty and I'd have preferred some of the fluff be cut but all in all a very pleasant listen. 4 stars!!!
I really enjoyed this book the main character Cat isn’t your typical beauty but Alexander finds something in Cat that makes her irresistible to him. I enjoyed the narrator she did a great job. I am interested in reading other books by author Lorelei Moone. The only real complaint is I wish it was longer!

My favorite books are 'Historical Romance'. A good book takes you away from your everyday life & puts you in the middle of an adventure.
Gethyn Edwards narrates this story beautifully. His character voices are fantastic and he delivers great emotion throughout the story. I could listen to this narrator everyday. Excellent.
I loved this story so much, I didn't want it to end. I hope this author continues on this path, because I want more. Loved it.
"Short and intense"
Lorelei Moone has successfully written a short, intense, creepy and sexy story and Gethyn Edwards has given a complimentary narration. If you are looking for a bite-size story with a little bite, look no further. (However, the vampire bite features with minimal impact in this book.) The vampires in this story are sophisticated and ruthless, as is often expected. As a result, Alexander is both intrinsically flawed and infinitely more attractive because he is appears more human and emotionally vulnerable. Overall, this is an easy book to listen to and I enjoyed it.
