On her own since the age of 14, Suzanne has no intention of settling down in tiny Walton, Georgia. But to her surprise, Walton residents have a way of making even reluctant guests feel right at home. My favorite Karen White, (so far)

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Definitely, this was a sequel to Falling Home which was also quite good. This was even better. I liked the character development, the love story, re-visiting my friends from Falling Home, the deep friendships, and character growth and development. I also fell in love with the small town and folks who made up it.

Karen White does not spend page after page on the love scenes, just enough to be interesting but not so much that you loose the story, Don't get me wrong I am a fan of Shades of Grey but many romance novels can repeat themselves so much that I want to fast forward to get back to the story.

Have you listened to any of Jennifer Van Dyke’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Great job on narration

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

The audio was hard to put down. I listened to it in my car and then did chores in the house so I could keep listening, taking it from room to room with me.

Any additional comments?

I have listened to 3 Karen White books so far and am ready to order another.

Always love Karen White's books

Once again Karen White delivered a good story, based in a clearly described Southern setting with characters that came to life.

Happy Endings

I was happy to discover this sequel to Falling Home. I loved the characters in both stories & enjoyed finding out what happened to them after the first story. I'm also a sucker for happy endings. I have not read a Karen White book that wasn't awesome!

Enjoyed returning toWalton, GA

Would you try another book from Karen White and/or Meredith Orlow?

Not as good as other Karen White books. Very predictable. I did enjoy returning to Walton, Georgia to continue with the characters.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Predictable

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

OK performance

Disappointed

Would you try another book from Karen White and/or Meredith Orlow?

Yes, I have loved Karen Whites other books. I guess they can' all be winners

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I loved Falling Home and part of the reason was the narration by Lyssa Browne. I was expecting the sequel to be read by her or at the very least someone as good as her. I was very unmoved and disappointed by Meredith Orlow. Her accent was unbelievable, and she sounded way too young for the main character.

Any additional comments?

I would recommend Falling Home, but skip the sequel. I found the story line to be uninteresting, unmoving and just plain boring. If you like cheesy romance novels maybe this is for you, if not don't bother.

Loved it.

I love reading every one of her books. Strong characters that come to life during the book. Love audiobooks

Not her best.

I love Karen White books, but this one was not her best, The narrator's fake Southern accent was bad, and very distracting. The characters were not given enough depth, and it was hard to relate to any of the characters. Save your money.

Too much romance... not enough mystery

What disappointed you about After the Rain?

Too much romance. Very disappointing after The Sound of Glass and A Long Time Gone.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Not really. I didn't even care much for the resolution of the little bit of mystery that ran through it.

Any additional comments?

I would not have purchased or read any of Karen White's other books if this had been the first one I chose.

Enjoyed it.

I love Karen White. It was a little slow at first, but ended well. That’s all I had to say, but I had to get 15 words for a review.lol
