Book Three of the After series - the Internet sensation with millions of readers.
Tessa didn't plan on meeting H. during her freshman year of college. But now that she has, her life will never be the same.

OK--I loved the first one, the second was 'meh' and this one was seemingly ENDLESS. The same stuff over and over. Hardin is a jerk to Tessa, she cries, he apologizes, she can't seem to get a grip on how to stand up to him, she also can't seem to tell him what's going on, she questions EVERYTHING and on and on and on and on. I don't know when I have been so involved with such an overblown and meaningless story. Hardin is indeed the JERK OF THE WORLD...he cannot seem to get a handle on his anger and takes it our on everyone, espeically Tessa who lets him walk all over her and then cries some more. This third installment is not much different from the first two. Yes, Hardin had some issues that were troublesome growing up but GET A GRIP and move on. Whew...I'm worn out. BUT!! I am also captive to the story and will finish it out (thank god!) in the final book. The narration is very good..both Shane East and Elizabeth Louise do nice jobs of the characters. I can only think that during the endless and repetitious events and situations, they must be rolling their eyes and saying...will this ever end. I understand this is wildly popular and has been optioned for a movie. Well oh boy.
I do have to add that Ms Todd has a real eye/ear for humor, though and I have laughed out loud at several of Hardin's comments. He can be quite funny. Tessa however, only knows how to gnash her teeth, question her every move and cry. Please make it stop
Unlike the previous books in the series, this one took awhile to get through. I felt that it was slow and uneventful. it was still a good read but not my favorite in the series.
Lots more 'I want to be with you', 'I can’t be with you', 'I can’t live without you’ ‘I love you but I’m not good for you’ in this third book of the series.
A lot does happen outside of all of that stuff though. Tessa seems to get stronger in each book. There is no denying that these two love each other but Tessa is really working out what makes Hardin tick. She can read him very well now and knows how to manoeuvre around his mood swings. That being said, he still has a lot of growing to do and there some things that she will just not accept him doing.
“You’re broken Hardin, and I can’t fix you.” - Tessa
Tessa’s ‘friends’ really show their true colours and I was completely shocked at their antics towards her. Zed keeps popping into this story and I still haven’t decided if he is just playing her or if he genuinely likes her. Is he just set on messing with Hardin? Is Zed’s Becca the same one that Noah is dating???
This girl seems to be a magnet to men, there are several vying for her attention and this drives Hardin crazy!
Tessa’s dad comes into this story too and some secrets from the past are revealed to her.
Near the end of the book the story is very much focused on Hardin and his family. Prepared to be blind sided with the events that happen when he is home visiting his mum in England. Total Hardin carnage but also really sad too.
At the end of this book it isn’t any clearer if these two are together or not. Will they end up together - I’m hoping the title of the next book answers that.
This was a really good story but it went on way too long. I wanted to jump to the end just to see what happens and cut out all the jealousy and fights between Hardin and Tesse. I think this book should have been cut in half. Long stories cause you to move onto other things and them come back to the story which can be very distracting. Other than that I loved the Chemistry between Harding and Tesse and the love scenes between the two were great! That's the main thing that kept my interest in the whole story.
I have to admit that I skipped the first couple chapters of the book bc the back and forth gets so tiresome. However, the second half was unbelievably amazing! The narrators are perfect and the story line keeps getting better and better! Can't wait for the next one!!
Prepare for lots of twists and turns. I feel like I should be on blood pressure meds after this one (and the two books before). Fabulous narration.. Hats off to Anna Todd for weaving a tale that has me absolutely spellbound.. I can't wait for the next in the series..
Let those who you love know today, tomorrow is not promised! Life experience, Mishawn
I have listened to three of After series and looking forward to the next book. Anna Todd has done a great job with this series and I am looking forward to listening to more of her books in the future. Both of the narrators are top notch and I would listen to either one of them again with no doubt. It's hard for me to say which is the best part of the book because every single part is when you need to listen more to just to get to the next one and then the next. The characters are all great and one that keeps your interest throughout the entire book.
Way to go Anna Todd and all your books! Great job!!!!
Just trying to find my next great read
Very good. No regrets spending a credit on each book in the series. It was worth every penny. I love my stories to build up to a tension, to tease me, torture me, and not to give it to me quick!! This series fulfilled all that and more. However, I have to be 100% connected to the characters which the author did an amazing job doing in each and every book!
The narrators did an amazing job!!! Both of them.
