A man who gave up on love....
Mitch Bradford is an intimidating man. In his professional life, he has a reputation for demolishing his opponents in the courtroom. At the exclusive BDSM club Sanctum, he prefers disciplining pretty submissives with no strings attached. In his line of work, there's no time for a healthy relationship. After a few failed attempts, he knows he's not good for any woman - especially not his best friend's sister.
A woman who always gets what she wants....
Laurel Daley knows what she wants, and her sights are set on Mitch. He's smart and sexy, and it doesn't matter that he's a few years older and has a couple of bitter ex-wives. Watching him in action at work and at play, she knows he just needs a little polish to make some woman the perfect lover. She intends to be that woman, but first she has to show him how good it could be.
A killer lurking in the shadows....
When an unexpected turn of events throws the two together, Mitch and Laurel are confronted with the perfect opportunity to explore their mutual desire. Night after night of being close breaks down Mitch's defenses. The more he sees of Laurel, the more he knows he wants her. Unfortunately, someone else has their eyes on Laurel and they have murder in mind.

I loved the story and the characters. Unfortunately, I did not like the voices used to tell the story. When he used the voice that was supposed to be sexy/aroused it sounded like someone was tired & had been screaming.
I truly enjoyed the entire series & look forward to additional tales of McCade Taggert. What happened on the last mission?
Another side story in the Masters and Mercenaries series, but is definitely a stand alone. It is a great story with characters from other books in the series popping in for guest shots. Good plot with well written characters. Ryan West does a wonderful job voicing the characters.
Ryan West's narration is awesome as always and of course, Lexi Blake's story telling is great. HOWEVER, 1001 Dark Night's should have coordinated the release of Adored with the release of the rest of the series. If you haven't READ the previous books through You Only Love Twice, do NOT listen to this book as it is one giant SPOILER ALERT!! It refers to the conclusions of most of the previous stories. IF you have read the previous stories, then you'll love this.
I love to read and listen to erotica all types and paranormal vamps and shifters
Spoiler Ahead This was a good book and I love reading this series. Mitchell Bradford is a man that has given up on love he has been married twice and both of his ex wives cheated on him. Laurel Daley knows what she wants and she wants Mitch Laurel is his paralegal and office manager she has been waiting six months for Mitch and she has had enough. When Kai calls Mitch to tell him that Laurel has been in the sub training program and he has matched her up with a temp Dom Master T aka Tennessee he loses his cool he doesn't want Laurel to be with anyone else. Laurel has had enough and when the two argue after someone tries to shoot her the two have sex without a condom he tells her it was a mistake and she leaves she also quits her job. A few weeks go by and Mitch is upset someone is threating him so he upgrades his security and puts a bodyguard on Laurel. Both Laurel and Mitch have been hurt by their parents who weren't their for them Laurel's mother who was a drug addict in and out of jail was raised by her brother Will and her sister. While Mitch was raised by a mother that man hopped and a father he felt neglected him because he was a product of an affair his father had with his mother plus being hurt by his ex wives he doesn't trust women outside of the subs he plays with at Sanctum. When Laurel is rushed to the hospital everyone gets a surprise and the cat is out of the bag. Laurel also gets a visit from Mitch's little brother a brother that she didn't know that he had and Mitch let's his jealousy show. This was a good book as also Lexi doesn't just give us a book with hot sex scenes there is danger and suspense. This book was well written like all of Lexi's books with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
I may be addicted to audiobooks. I love my husband and my kids but I get a chance to escape with the books and be someone else for a while
As always, Lexi Blake never fails to disappoint. The story has all the components from love to lust yet it was still a very sweet, romantic book. Ryan West did a fantastic job with the characters.... it didn't hurt that he has the "lustfully dark timber" to his voice that makes your panties burst into flames.... yum yum yum... sigh
