Publisher's Summary

It’s Christmastime in London and Rafe Bowman has arrived from America for his arranged meeting with Natalie Blandford, the very proper and beautiful daughter of Lady and Lord Blandford. His chiseled good looks and imposing physique are sure to impress the lady-in-waiting, and if it weren’t for his shocking American ways and wild reputation, her hand would already be guaranteed.

Before the courtship can begin, Rafe realizes he must learn the rules of London society. But when four former Wallfowers try their hand at matchmaking, no one knows what will happen. And winning a bride turns out to be more complicated than Rafe Bowman anticipated, especially for a man accustomed to getting anything he wants.

However, Christmas works in the most unexpected ways, changing a cynic to a romantic and inspiring passion in the most timid of hearts.

"Very enjoyable addition to the series"

It was nice to revisit old friends in this series. I would call this short but very enjoyable. This book, as well as all the books in the series, is very entertaining. It is funny, romantic and emotional at times. All the books are well written and narrated to perfection!

    "A Christmas gift from Lisa!"

This is a shorter book, as this series goes, but no less full of everything I love about Lisa Kleypas and the Wallflowers, with the added bonus that it takes place at glorious Stoney Cross during Christmas time -- and the whole gang is there!

Rafe Bowman, a reputed ladies man, is being encouraged (blackmailed) by his parents into marrying into the aristocracy. Rafe wants control of part of Bowman's Soap, and the price is marriage to Lady Natalie. This kind of pressure is not new for Rafe: His father has been bullying him since he was a young boy in an effort to make him into a carbon copy of himself. That's probably why Rafe doesn't capitulate to their demands as a rule -- but dammit, this time something he really wants is at stake, so he's considering it.

Then he meets Hannah, Lady Natalie's poor relation and companion, a young woman who has already formed a rather poor opinion of Rafe based on what's she's heard from the rumor mill. And yet, he has a strangely compelling effect on her -- especially after they kiss.

I've been collecting Christmas themed HRs in a special playlist to pull out during the holiday season, (as a secret santa gift to myself!), and this is one of my favorites. (The scene with the toupee is a classic, as is the reading of A Christmas Carol.) I can't think of a nicer way to spend Christmas eve, (after everyone else has finally gone to bed), than to sit in my favorite chair in front of the fire, and listen to this lovely story. It's become a yearly favorite.

The lovely scene when the Wallflowers and their husbands, along with Hannah and Rafe, are all together and decorating the tree -- with tiny wires holding tiny candles! The idea of the candles really captures my imagination, though I'll admit it does give me pause. What a fire hazard! (Even Westcliff suffers a bit of trepidation at the thought of burning the manor down!)

With all our modern electrical decorations, we can only imagine how magical such a tree would have been at that simpler time. I would love to see a tree decorated that way, just once.

Rosalyn Landor, as always, is a Christmas gift as well.

    Highly Recommended!

A sweet Christmas story. Pomp and circumstance with sister commeradery mixed in. Christmas love always makes for a feel good romance.

Would you listen to A Wallflower Christmas again? Why?

I have thoroughly enjoyed the Wallflower series. I am a great lover of historical novels and it was fun to watch the start of the industrial era in these books. Lisa Kleypas has become one of my favorite authors.

What other book might you compare A Wallflower Christmas to and why?

    All of the Wallflower books.

What does Rosalyn Landor bring to the story that you wouldn???t experience if you just read the book?

She is truly one of the best readers I have listened to.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Lisa Kleypas had me laughing at some of the passages in her book and she had me crying at some of them. Great writing.

Vince Flynn is my favorite author. I enjoy CIA or FBI thrillers, and sometimes light reading like Judith McNaught or Cathrine Coulter. Personal information, I became a grandma last year and love it!

If you could sum up A Wallflower Christmas in three words, what would they be?

    Entertaining, predictable, romantic

What other book might you compare A Wallflower Christmas to and why?

The other Wallflower Series Books. Each has the same story of finding the man, falling in love, some catastrophic event, and resolving the event, then getting married.

Have you listened to any of Rosalyn Landor’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I love listening to her read. I select books based on her reading.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not really, although there were times I didn't want to arrive at my destination so I could hear more of the story to see "what happens"

    Any additional comments?

    Fun listening
