An angel with immense power and insatiable desire, Adrian Mitchell leads an elite Special Ops unit of the seraphim. His task is to punish the Fallen - angels who have become vampires - and command a restless pack of indentured lycans.
But Adrian has suffered his own punishment for becoming involved with mortals - losing the woman he loves again and again. Now, after nearly 200 years, he has found her: Shadoe, her soul once more inhabiting a new body that doesn’t remember him. This time he won’t let her go.
With no memory of her past as Shadoe, Lindsay Gibson knows only that she can’t help being fiercely attracted to the smoldering, seductive male who crosses her path. Swept into a dangerous world of tumultuous passion and preternatural conflict, Lindsay is soon caught between her angel lover, her vampire father, and a full-blown lycan revolt. There’s more at stake than her love and her life - she could lose her very soul....

"Explodes with passion and heat. A hot, sexy angel to die for and a gutsy heroine make for one exciting read." (New York Times best-selling author Cheyenne McCray)
"Sylvia Day spins a gorgeous adventure that combines gritty, exciting storytelling with soaring lyricism. Adrian is my favorite kind of hero - an alpha-male angel determined to win the heart of his heroine, Lindsay, while protecting her from his lethal enemy.... This is definitely a book for your keeper shelf." (New York Times best-selling author Angela Knight)
Say something about yourself!
man talk about a hot angel, knows what he wants and aint afraid to fight for it. hot sex good action and story line leaving wanting for more. you can't beat that.
New vampire universe.
I haven't. But I like his voice. It's soothing. I'm a bit disappointed that he won't be reading book 2.
Nothing! This story was terrible. I could not get past the sex which was most of the story. Don't get me wrong, I like a good steamy read, but throwing in as much sex as you can think up does not make a good book. The writing was childish and boring. The only thing I liked was the cover.I love blue and red togeather
No! There are many good writers in this genre.
What he was reading.
All the sex scenes.
This could possibly have been a good story, all the elements seem to be there.
A little bit of a 'slow starter" but it got rolling in a few chapters. Very neat twist to the Angel, Vamp, Lycan stuff I normally read. I really loved this book and find it is worth far more than $7. Spend your money here, save your credit for those nineteen and over twenty dollar books, LOL. I cant wait for more of the series, I devoured this one in 3 nights, tried really hard to make it 2 nights but I did have to have a little bit of sleep. Very steamy romance and a very good story to it. You wont be disappointed.
Narration was hard to get used to at first, but I soon got used to it and really missed it in the 2nd book.
Am doing so now
1st one I liked him very much
I loved it from beginning to end
I've always been a avid reader so now I'm a avid listener. I prefer the paranormal genre but I do like to switch things up. It's boring if you don't have variety. Of course I do love the romance and the hotter the better. Also, you can't beat a good thriller filled with suspense and a ending you can't even guess at until the very end.
Another great series.
First listen and he did fine.
It is at such a good price I didn't use a credit. If you like this genre of book then I think you'll be well pleased with this one. It is the first book in the series and I'm already looking foward to getting the next one.
This was great! The romance and plot go great!!!
I would recommend this to all who love angels, romance and drama
This is my second attempt at a Luke Daniels narration. The first one was "eh" - but I attributed that to the novel. His work was fine. But this time, I can not even get past the first 10 minutes of the story. I jumped ahead to see if I could take it later in the story, and if his overly macho tone would have settled down, but it just isn't working for me. I don't think he is a bad narrator. I just think his tone is wrong for me to listen to. I have to return this audiobook. I may try to read it instead, since I like the premise.
Avid reader/listener of romance, action, thrillers, and spy novels.
It's in the top ten. Most of my top ten are wriitten by Sherrilyn Kenyon (Dark Hunter series or CoN series read by Holter Graham) or Jonathan Maberry (Joe Ledger series read by Ray Porter), but this one's in there! It's an interesting twist on the fallen angel concepts and the origin of vampires and Lycans.
In terms of originality, I'd compare it to Born of Shadows or Time Untime by Sherrilyn Kenyon. In terms of utilizing mythology, it compares to the Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne. I love all those series and they're all interesting and original in their own right. This one is completely original from all the other books I read or listened to. That's a rarity with romance or science fiction.
i have listened to Luke Daniels. Even though he's always going to be Atticus O'Sullivan to me, he's really stretching his talents by doing this one. He's done well differentiating characters from the narrator voice of the story. It's awesome to hear him develop his talent.
I wish they had Mr. Daniels narrate the other book. I only get the ones read by men, and even then, I only listen to a select few. Mr. Daniels is one of the few. The next book is read by a women, so I'll be buying it, but if you don't have those hang ups, I would definately get the next book.
I became a fan by listening to the Crossfire series from Sylvia Day. That author is amazing! She makes very good descriptions of the characters and their sex scenes. Very steamy book if you like that kind of stuff. She never disappoints when it comes to that subject.
The story is different from any other fantasy/romance book I've listened to so far. I'm use to listening different books about vampires but renegade angels puts a different twist to the story WITH vampires...how they're made, survive, etc. They give you a good definition of each kind of character in the first chapter which helps throughout the book. At first I thought it was boring to hear the definitions but it begins to makes more sense if you listen further.
Luke Daniel's performance has kind of a harsh voice as in too serious of a narrator. I get that the story is intense at times but it's kind of like listening to a news broadcaster who's relaying a breaking news story. The female characters he portrays needs a little work. Because of the narrator's low tone, the female characters lack personality.
The moment when Adrian chooses to fall. I think I gave away too much...but that's the moment the book moved me.
Give the book a chance. The first few chapters are kind of boring but it gets better towards the middle and end. The series leaves you wanting more and I can't wait for the rest of the series to come out. It's worth the purchase but not the credit. You get your money's worth if you just buy it.
