Publisher's summary

An angel with immense power and insatiable desire, Adrian Mitchell leads an elite Special Ops unit of the seraphim. His task is to punish the Fallen - angels who have become vampires - and command a restless pack of indentured lycans.

But Adrian has suffered his own punishment for becoming involved with mortals - losing the woman he loves again and again. Now, after nearly 200 years, he has found her: Shadoe, her soul once more inhabiting a new body that doesn’t remember him. This time he won’t let her go.

With no memory of her past as Shadoe, Lindsay Gibson knows only that she can’t help being fiercely attracted to the smoldering, seductive male who crosses her path. Swept into a dangerous world of tumultuous passion and preternatural conflict, Lindsay is soon caught between her angel lover, her vampire father, and a full-blown lycan revolt. There’s more at stake than her love and her life - she could lose her very soul....

Critic reviews

"Explodes with passion and heat. A hot, sexy angel to die for and a gutsy heroine make for one exciting read." ( New York Times best-selling author Cheyenne McCray)
"Sylvia Day spins a gorgeous adventure that combines gritty, exciting storytelling with soaring lyricism. Adrian is my favorite kind of hero - an alpha-male angel determined to win the heart of his heroine, Lindsay, while protecting her from his lethal enemy.... This is definitely a book for your keeper shelf." ( New York Times best-selling author Angela Knight)

Very good!

I was pleasantly surprised with the twist and loved that it had a HEA for Adrian and Lindsay, however, it leaves with a cliffhanger. Lots of language and some sex (little graphic). Narrator was very good!

Powerful Strugle between Angels and Vamps

Would you consider the audio edition of A Touch of Crimson to be better than the print version?

Yes. The Audio book brought more action, excitement, and humor to the story than the print version. Luke Daniels did a great job bringing the Arc Angels story to light.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Adrian, The Captain of the Arc Angels character was very popular in this book. I also liked Elijah, the Lycan, Who had Alpha in him.

Have you listened to any of Luke Daniels’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I haven't listened to any of Luke Daniels work before, but I felt he did a great job narrating this book.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes. I felt one of the most important areas in the book was at the beginning when Adrian and Elijah, were attacked in the Helicopter by the infected Vampire. This was the first occurrence of the vampire virus and this occurrence pitted the Arc angels against the Vamps.

Any additional comments?

I think this is the beginning of a great series and I can't wait to get deeper into the battle between the Angels, Vampires, and Lycans. It is obvious that there is a conspiracy developing and I love the direction.

A HEAVENLY PARANORMAL LISTEN

Vampires, Lycans, Watchers, Minions, Nephalims, Sentinels, Seraphine Angels and humans all inhabit this paranormal world that S.D. has soooo brilliantly created for us to share in and enjoy.

This listen captures you from the first few chapters where a paranormal Special Ops team of Angels fight the Fallen (Vampires) with the help of the Lycans but when Aiden (the Angelic Leader) stumbles upon Lindsay (his reincarnated soul mate) then everything is put on hold and action, tension, attraction, seduction and lots and lots of passion ensue as Ms Day skilfully mixes all these ingredients together to create a non-stop listen.

She also then adds a bucket full of interesting characters (including lots of yummy sexy Alpha types) who will have you drawn into this intense and sexy listen that's got plots and sub plots where we hope true love can eventually conquer all if it's only given the chance. However, psychological and biological warfare is also going on as Heavenly rules and regulations are slowly being broken and all the characters are secretly and cleverly being manipulated by someone...... but who?

Worth a credit? Yes it definitely would be - but for $7.34 why use one. However, beware this does contain sex scenes and some strong language so if you don't like these ingredients in your listens then opt for a different book - as for me, we'll I'm off to listen to book 2.

New vampire universe.

What did you like best about this story?

Adrian.

Have you listened to any of Luke Daniels’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I haven't. But I like his voice. It's soothing. I'm a bit disappointed that he won't be reading book 2.

A decent story...

Overall I'd say I enjoyed this story. It's not the best I've experienced but certainly far from the worst. This is one of those times when I think if I had actually read the story, I would have enjoyed it more with the voices my own imagination would have come up with. I do have to say that the reader (Luke Daniels) is acceptable for the most part but his voice for one of the angels was distracting for me (he sounded like Jack Nicholson, really...Jack Nicholson an angel?) and he often spoke far too slowly for many of the male characters. Apart from that though he was fairly believable. I'm definitely interested in looking up some of the subsequent stories in this series.

An under $10.00 listen.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I enjoyed the book, like I said it was an under $10.00 listen while waiting on a new credit.

Would you be willing to try another book from Sylvia Day? Why or why not?

I do listen to Sylvia Day, I have found much better supernatural listens from other authors though...this was kind of a fluff listen, not much for the brain..all hunk and sex mostly.

Which scene was your favorite?

I liked Shadoe's and Lindsay's confrontation....Lindsay showed her spunk even then...

Did A Touch of Crimson inspire you to do anything?

No inspiration from this listen....

Any additional comments?

I may continue on with the trilogy when I need another cheap listen....I am not obsessed with getting to the next two listens any time soon.

Great story bad language (X-RATED)

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I think Sylvia Day could have told this story just as well without all the sex and curse words. I understand some situations cursing is magnifying but in this book it is so obligatory I may as well purchase an erotic book. This story is such a great story there is no need to add all the graphic visuals and constant cursing. Take a page from Kevin Hearne and curse only on occasion to increase the impact of it. Beware if you have children. If your listening in your car with your kids this book is well beyond their age group for listening. I would be hesitant to even listen around a 12 year old let alone my own mom and dad. I wish she had taken the high road and put a warning at the beginning of the book so I would not have started listening to this on the road with my six year old son in the car. I will more than likely not buy the next few books in the series just because I have never really enjoyed semi erotica books. The story is so well molded I really wish she had not gone overboard with the language and sexual references/descriptions.

Luke Daniels is great in this though. He really knows how to narrate a story. I think he could read stereo instructions and make people want to listen to that over and over.

Would you recommend A Touch of Crimson to your friends? Why or why not?

The single and only reason I would not recommend this book is because of the language/sex references. A good author can forgo most of that with better words. Lazy writing is not worth the money. But the story over all is great. Sadly you spend all your time on sexual references in this book rather than the story itself.

Which character – as performed by Luke Daniels – was your favorite?

He can perform any character. It is really hard to pin down a favorite with him.

Did A Touch of Crimson inspire you to do anything?

No it did not but I suspect a teenage boy would be inspired to do something with this book. Sadly it would not be writing.

Interesting and fun read

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, it was recommended to me and I would recommend it to a friend. I think it's an interesting well written story. Sylvia Day always does a great job of entertaining and writing believable stories/relationships.

Have you listened to any of Luke Daniels’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I haven't but I did like his voice of the characters.

Any additional comments?

It would be nice if both of these books were narrated by the same person. (Luke Daniels) When listening to the series you get use to the voices and when you switch narrators it because difficult to know who is talking at times.

Intrigued.

Unexpected twist at the end. Can't wait to see what happens next! What happens to Shadoe? What happens to Elijah?
