How much would you be willing to sacrifice for the one you love? Lillianna Zook and Thomas Girod had been friends throughout most of their Amish childhood, but they part ways when Lillianna's family moves to a district in another state. She fears their friendship has been lost forever until a chance encounter brings them in contact once again. Lillianna learns that Thomas needs money - a lot of it - and it's a matter of life and death. Lillianna is willing to do anything she can to help Thomas, so when an opportunity arises where she can make a lot of money in a short time, she doesn't hesitate. But will her sacrifice be worth the trials this new opportunity presents?

Writing was very poor from the beginning. Lil hasn't seen Thomas in what, a decade or something, since they were children, and they happen to run into each other and say they love each other and want to get married. That's just stupid, they don't even know each other, and this was AFTER he said he didn't believe in God. Then there is the rape scene with her new boss. Disgusting and pathetic and depressing, could not listen any further. Will try to get a refund.
Yes, most definitely.
No. Even the narration was poor. Very disappointed.
Not the part that I listened to, they only mention God but don't walk it. Maybe it got better further on in the book, but I didn't listen after the rape scene, which gave too much detail and was completely unnecessary.
Very disappointing. I've liked other books by this author and was excited to see another one, but I will listen to no more. Will try to get a refund. May even cancel my membership with audible, there isn't much else good to listen to evidently.
My first audio book, and I enjoyed it so much. The story was so touching....Lilliana and Thomas had many obstacles to overcome. I so enjoyed how one kept her faith and the other found their way back to faith. A sad but very beautiful story! Thank you Jennifer Spredemann for sending this to me for an honest review. I look forward to reading more of your books.
Not my favorite by this author. Story was not fleshed out enough and was not the kind of Amish fiction I typically enjoy
