Excellent Book

Nicole Burnham is a favorite author of mine. I really like reading her work. This is the first book of hers I've listened to so far. I completely enjoyed this book of three novellas. It helped my 8 hour drive pass quickly. I usually listen to music but now I want to get another book! The order of my favorite stories are the 3rd, 1st, then 2nd. I laughed out loud and even cried a few times. I was invested in the lives of the characters and looked forward to seeing how the HEA will happen! The performance was well done. Hollis McCarthy has a soothing voice. Definitely worth my time! Look forward to more.

Need A Vacation? Perfect Escape

Would you consider the audio edition of A Royal Scandals Christmas to be better than the print version?

It's nice to be able to hear the different character's possible voices. Of course my favorite thing about audiobooks is that I don't have to put the story away while driving.

What other book might you compare A Royal Scandals Christmas to and why?

I don't really have any to compare it too. This is a fantastic series. I always eagerly await the next installment so I can escape away.

What about Hollis McCarthy’s performance did you like?

Her performance was okay. At first I didn't care for her male voices. As the book progressed I adjusted to them but I still don't love them.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Escape away for romance

Three Amazing Novellas

I'm a hopeless romantic. These three amazing novellas were fantastic and really suck the listeners in. The 3 stories really draw the listener in. It was great to hear more about the non-royals that are connected to the royal family. These short novellas are just the thing to listen to as the weather turns chillier.

Three delightful novellas

If you could sum up A Royal Scandals Christmas in three words, what would they be?

Charming novellas. Well-written, with an excellent reader, a great choice for the hopeless romantic. Even better if you've read the other stories in the series, but not necessary.

Three Novellas in One - a perfect match.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this audiobook to a friend because the narrator did a great job and having three novellas in one makes it an easy listen.

Who was your favorite character and why?

April Dietrich from Christmas on the Royal Yacht was my favorite. I loved her spunk and independence.

Which scene was your favorite?

Again, it's from Christmas on the Royal Yacht, and it's where April gets "rescued" from the water. She's able handle not needing to be rescued with class and doesn't make her hero feel too bad. Love this pair.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Stupendous!!!

Again Nicole Burnham puts out a book that puts you right there walking aside the characters. Keeps you right there rooting for love and holding your breath at each little glitch that the characters have to over come.
Nicole is an exceptional author. Who keeps on tract and doesn't wain from the direction of her focus. I can't wait for this royal story line to continue. 5 stars for everything surrounding the book from plot beginning to end of each novella tithe choice of Hollis McCarthy as narrator.

Second Chances to find love

Would you listen to A Royal Scandals Christmas again? Why?

I enjoy listening to the narrator's voice. I also enjoy the various stories. I'm involved in the characters.

What did you like best about this story?

These three follow three sets of supporting characters from the main stories around three different Christmas periods as they all have a second chance at love. There are three different reasons the pairs split the first time, and it gives a great way to solve problems.

Have you listened to any of Hollis McCarthy’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

She has a similar accent for all the characters from the same areas in the series. It makes it easy to tell them apart.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Not sure, as I am not good at converting

Any additional comments?

Loved the various stories and getting some background information about some of the supporting cast to the Barrali royal family.

Need Holiday Spirit? Pick up these novellas.

A Royal Scandals Christmas is a collection of three novellas involving some of the people who work for the Barrali family. It is a glimpse at the lives of some of the people who are employed by the Barrali family. All three of these novellas are close to being second chance at love stories. All three are well written. The stories mesh well together, while not necessarily being written about the same Christmas.

Christmas with a Prince. Holly Elliott is at the Barrali family winery to celebrate her brother’s wedding. She is anticipating a wonderful celebration with her brother and his fiancé. What she is not anticipating is her brother’s best friend (and her secret love) being able to get out of a commitment and being at the nuptials.

Christmas on the Royal Yacht. April Dietrich left New York to take a job with the royal family. In doing so, she left behind her lover Rock Fournier. Five years have passed since she left and Rock is now working as a Chef on the royal yacht. Can the holiday season soften both their hearts and mend old hurts?

Christmas with a Palace Thief. Umberto Niro, head of palace security, catches his former lover (and disgraced security agent) in the queen’s closet. Can he set aside years of mistrust to find the truth behind her actions today and in the past or will he be destined to live alone.
While all three novellas were well written, Christmas with a Palace Thief was my favorite. All three novellas were quick reads and would definitely put a person in the holiday spirit. I enjoy reading Nichole Burnham’s books. The characters and plot have a nice pace and don’t seem rushed or stilted.

Hollis McCarthy did a good job with the narration of the stories. I think she struggled a little with the male voices at the beginning but by the third novella seemed to do a great job with the accents and characters. I would listen to more books narrated by Ms. McCarthy.

Fairytale dreams do come true ....

What made the experience of listening to A Royal Scandals Christmas the most enjoyable?

What woman doesn't love a sexy man. Add an accent and the heat level rises. No matter how old I get, my love for a good romance will remain constant.

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Royal Scandals Christmas?

My favorite moment was when Stefano tricked Holly and Gabe into laying their cards on the table. Caring, sexy and a man with his own mysteries. What's not to love?

Have you listened to any of Hollis McCarthy’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

A Royal Scandals Christmas is my first introduction to Hollis McCarthy. She threw herself into her work. Her interpretation of foreign princes and adorable flower girls, made for some irresistible moments.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I wanted to and indeed did finish in one sitting. Ms. McCarthy breathed life into characters that were already captivating. The connection between the author and the narrator made for a perfect match.

Any additional comments?

I have loved Nicolas Burnham and her majestic stories since I was an eighteen year old dreamer and it'seems good to know that her stories as addictive now as they were then.
