Publisher's summary

“Super-sexy with snappy dialogue, this wonderful Cinderella tale begins the search for Lanie and Noah’s happily-ever-after.... The sequel cannot arrive fast enough.” (RT Book Reviews, 4-1/2 stars)

Delaine Talbot has a secret. When a matter of life and death threatens to tear apart her family, Delaine makes the ultimate sacrifice. She auctions herself off at Chicago’s most exclusive erotic club. Now she belongs to Noah Crawford, a wealthy mogul who introduces her to a seductive feast of the senses, awakening desires she only dreamed about.

Noah doesn’t know why Delaine sold her body for a cool two mil. But it’s the perfect business arrangement. The inexperienced beauty will learn to satisfy his every sensual need, yet never touch his heart. Almost immediately their relationship generates heat - in more ways than one. When they fight, they take no prisoners. When they love, they show no mercy. When they’re together, they never want to leave each other’s arms. But soon, their intense, physical bond will take an unexpected turn - evolving into something neither has bargained for: the promise of a lasting love.

“This book has some yummy scenes. The chemistry is absolutely there, the back and forth bantering, the punishments, and the tender moments.... I am looking forward to the next one for sure as we are left with a bit of a cliffhanger... man I hate (love love love) that!” (The Reading Cafe)

“Explosive... If I had to sum this story up in three words, they would be thrilling, dangerous and addictive.” (23 Review Street)

Great book- terrible ending! It leaves you hanging

Would you listen to A Million Dirty Secrets again? Why?

Yes, I loved the hot, steamy love scenes.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes I would like to listen to the book in one sitting! I just wish the ending didn't leave you hanging. Plus with no sequel in the works to look forward to.

Not worht the credit

What disappointed you about A Million Dirty Secrets?

There were so many cliche and catch phases used it was impossible not to laugh at the predictability of the next line. And there was nothing in the description to suggest that this was the first of a series...truly disappointed with the ending.

Clever writing, but missed the mark

This story was pretty clever and hot, in theory. However, it missed the mark for me. It just couldn't hold my interest. I love books with lots of hot, steamy sex, but I felt like there was nothing else happening at all, and that makes these scenes uninteresting. I got about halfway through, and all I know is that the main character has a sick mother. There's absolutely no depth to this story.

Bad, really, really bad

I’m 36 minutes in and I can’t continue. The female narrator is terrible. She sounds like she’s in middle school. The story is completely unbelievable. Between the horrible narration and the creepy, odd dialogue I just can’t continue. I have no review of the male narrator because I didn’t get to a chapter from the male POV. This book is just a complete NO all the way around!!

Not a Winner

What disappointed you about A Million Dirty Secrets?

Delaine drove me nuts, she was way to winey for my taste. I found myself forwarding through her parts.

What didn’t you like about Rockwell Davis and Rubyyy Jones ’s performance?

I did like both narrators, they were what made this book.

Any additional comments?

Maybe it's this type of book has been done over and over and this wasn't anything unique for me or it was the wish washy characters but I couldn't get into this book or even finish the book.

Disappointing

The book is poorly written with little character development and storyline. The lead character is very annoying and ridiculously immature. Unless you like a lot of angry immature sex scenes, it’s not worth reading. Not worth continuing with subsequent novels with the continuation of what little story there is.

Immature heroine

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The story was just okay, but the character of Delaine was incredibly immature and fairly unlikeable even considering her circumstances. The narration by Rubyyy Jones didn't help. The only reason I got through the book at all was the narration by Rockwell Davis. He was OUTSTANDING and I would love to listen to him in another series.

What could C. L. Parker have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

I think the premise of the story had potential, but her leading lady needed to grow up. I felt like I was listening to a whiney middle schooler. Given the content, that was a bit creepy and uncomfortable. Not only that, the author was never really able to sell me that this crazy set of circumstances was remotely believable. I did like the character of Noah, although I don't know how much of that was the writing and how much was Rockwell Davis' voice!

Would you listen to another book narrated by Rockwell Davis and Rubyyy Jones ?

I would definitely listen to Rockwell Davis again. I'd listen to that guy read the phone book. He's the reason I gave the performance 4 stars and if it had been him alone, he would have gotten 5. I can think of so many series he'd be GREAT reading. I don't think I could take another reading by Rubyyy Jones unless she dramatically changed her style.

Painful, had to stop listening

Sorry, I just couldn't take it any longer. This book is like listening to an awful teenage girl conversation. The main character is whiny and obnoxious. She volunteers for this life and then acts as if she is being held against her will. Ugh, a waste of money and time!

Juvenile

The concept of this story is not bad; it’s just that the female protagonist thinks and talks like a very, very young teenager. I found this immature point of view extremely annoying. This book is really designed for teenagers, but the sex scenes are too explicit for that age group. I do not recommend this book.
