Truly Terrible

This is the worst book I have ordered from Audible in my five years of subscribing. The characters are flat and uninteresting and the plot boring and predictible. The good characters are sugar sweet and have never in their lives had a bad though. The bad characters are over the top mean and evil. And just to add a bit of fun, the author tosses in an abortion debate! I felt like I'd wandered past the downtown planned parenthood site and had to listen to the radicals screeching about "baby killers."

When ordering a romance, I expect light entertainment with interesting characters and a plot with at least ONE twist to it. This book was sadly disappointing.

Wonderful Story

A little different with a British narrator but all worked perfectly. The heroine is from England, having fled due to her father’s wrongful imprisonment. She finds a new life but is frantic to have her father set free.

A Lady of Hidden Intent

I absolutely loved this story! I've now listened to several of her books and im completely in love with each of them! This series is one of my favorites. I do struggle with the performance because she doesn't do male voices as well as many others have.

Hard to Hear

Would you try another book from Tracie Peterson and/or Barbara Caruso?

Definitely will try another book from Tracie Peterson but not Barbara Caruso if I can help it.

What didn’t you like about Barbara Caruso’s performance?

It became very frustrating and difficult to listen to this book. The narrator had such a variation in volume that when I turned up the volume high in order to hear the end of sentences, I still couldn't make them out. And of course the rest of the sentence was painfully loud. I was interested in the story and wanted not to miss a beat. Instead I endured to the end, missing the whispered sentence endings about 1/4 of the time.
