Elijah Reynolds is the most dominant of lycans, a rare alpha whose skill on the hunt is surpassed only by his primal sexuality. When the lycans revolt due to the iron fist of angelic rule, he steps into command, becoming both enemy and coveted ally in the conflict between vampires and angels.
Vashti is the second most powerful vampire in the world, a lethal beauty who has left a path of devastation in her wake. Tasked with proposing an alliance between vampires and the lycans who killed her mate, Vash approaches Elijah, whose need to avenge a friend demands Vash’s death even as his passion demands her surrender.
Soon their enmity erodes beneath an all-consuming desire. Elijah has never encountered a woman whose warrior spirit and fierce sexual appetite rival his own, while Vash is faced with the one man strong enough to be her equal. But as war looms, they must decide where their loyalties lie - with their own kind or with the enemy lover they can no longer live without.

Ahhhhh Elijah (ex bodyguard and sexy Alpha leader of the Lycans) falls for Vashti (second in command of the vamps) and a sizzling hot romance follows but some people aren't happy about it - including themselves.
Not a stand alone listen as it's 2 of a trilogy and the base story has already been set in book 1. SD continues her exciting paranormal world of the Renegade Angels with this story which has all the usual great characters we've already met and some new interesting ones as the story continues to unfold a bit more as we come closer to finding out the who, what and why's. Beware, it does contain a bit more sex scenes and swearing but it's also action packed, riveting and passionate.
Worth a credit? Yes, but for $7.34 I'd just buy it. Not long to wait until the conclusion in book 3 A Taste of Seduction which is released in February and it's Syre's story (leader of the Vampires).
This book will scorch you. This book is super hot and has a great story line with all the hot romance. Hotter than the first one. Those Lycans sure can get down.
Really! I like it better if the same narrator does a complete series, but really, pick one of the 2 and keep that ONE for the rest of these. This narrator isnt bad, its just my brain just heard the first book and then had to get used to a new voice for all my fav characters.
This book is so worth the price (actually very low price) and I highly recommend this book and series to everyone that loves a hot romance read that consumes the listener. Had to do this one in 2 nights, but it sure could be a one day or night read. Wow.
I can haz cookie?
Not particularly. I liked the story, not so the narrator. First, I really preferred the narrator from the first book, and this was a negative change. I don't think Rachel Vivette differentiated the characters enough, or gave them their own voice. In particular, Vashti is a vary strong female, and this narrator made her sound whiney weaker than I think she was.
I liked Vashti and the strong woman who could hold her own.
On the fence here, I might try another but only if there were positive ratings.
I enjoyed the story. While this is certainly no epic saga, I did enjoy it and I am waiting for the third.
Being a Sylvia Day- Crossfire fan, I suppose I was expecting too much. This book did not deliver anything for me. I listened to 3 chapters and turned it off.
After reading J.R. Ward, paranormal writers must really produce something spectacular as well as smart. This book was neither. The narrator did a nice job, but other than that, save your credits for her next Crossfire installment.
This book two is a very entertaining and spicy listen. We have strong characters and the best delivery of dialog. Im sad it wasn't longer. This is a audio you will listen to more then once. Makes me very excited for the next book in this series. I love Sylvia Days writing and am now a super fan of the narrator Rachel Vivette.
The men in this series are no nonsense and will blow your mind. Our male alpha in this book is clear and honest with what he wants, our female vampire is like "can this man be real?" OH YES HE CAN!
Say something about yourself!
i luv elijah, he is so sexy, smart. the female she got on my nerves, for a warrior i found her to be so emotionally stupid. the story line was great, luv the sex and action.
I've always been a avid reader so now I'm a avid listener. I prefer the paranormal genre but I do like to switch things up. It's boring if you don't have variety. Of course I do love the romance and the hotter the better. Also, you can't beat a good thriller filled with suspense and a ending you can't even guess at until the very end.
The second book in the series and it’s just as yummy!! In my opinion there’s not much better than a sexy Lycan male and Elijah is just the perfect example of that. He meets his match in the sexy and super tough vampire Vashti.
This is so worth your credit but the purchase price is so good I just got it and saved my credit. If you like this genre you’ll love this. Just make sure you get book 1 first.
I bought both of the Renegade Angels books because they were on sale. But as occasionally happens I got lucky with a really good story. If you like interesting characters, it's got that, if you like a lot of sex, it's got that, (I actually got kinda tired of it all), if you like good love stories, you got that too, but if you need a real good story that will keep your interest to prop up all that love and sex, well you definately got that also (surprise!). I just wish Ms. Day would hurry up with the final book.
I already had the book to read, but commute so much that I decided to purchase the audio, as well. I had forgotten that the series had been on hold, so the ending, or lack of an ending, is what disappointed me.
If the story were to continue, that would be wonderful, or make the book slightly longer to tie up all the loose ends.
Every female's voice sounds like she's a Valley Girl and the men sound like choking surfers. Also, the awkward attention to small words such as prepositions, conjunctions, and articles ("to" "and" & "the", specifically) makes it sound less speech like, and more like Siri.
As I mentioned before, I have already read the book and partial series once, so I thought I'd like to have it along for the commute. Trying to decipher the awkwardness of the reader was the most difficult part of listening to the book, rather than just reading it. I almost turned it off, but was able to read ahead when I arrived home, so I could fast-forward. Desperation for the commute is the only thing that kept me listening.
I would recommend it to friend only so you can keep up for the next series.
Yes I would see it
I think the war between the sentinel, the vamps, the likings etc was too confusing. It was was hard to tell who was on who's side after a while. I think this is what made me not like it as much. I love book 1. Looking forward to book 3.
