Publisher's summary

A mythic warrior who'll stop at nothing to possess her....

After enduring years of torture from the vampire horde, Lachlain MacRieve, leader of the Lykae Clan, is enraged to find the predestined mate he's waited millennia for is a vampire. Or partly one. This Emmaline is a small, ethereal half Valkyrie/half vampire, who somehow begins to soothe the fury burning within him.

A vampire captured by her wildest fantasy....

Sheltered Emmaline Troy finally sets out to uncover the truth about her deceased parents - until a powerful Lykae claims her as his mate and forces her back to his ancestral Scottish castle. There, her fear of the Lykae - and their notorious dark desires - ebbs as he begins a slow, wicked seduction to sate her own dark cravings.

An all-consuming desire....

Yet when an ancient evil from her past resurfaces, will their desire deepen into a love that can bring a proud warrior to his knees and turn a gentle beauty into the fighter she was born to be?

Good but not Great

I have read most of this series and really enjoyed it. When I saw the audio books released, I thought that I would enjoy listening to the series as well. The fact that I have read and now am listening to the series, should tell you enough about where i stand on my recommendation. But I do want to note that I think this book and the series are slightly different from most paranormal romance books. There is a certain whimsical nature to some of the characters and plot lines, a la the Kerrelyn Sparks' books. It does have darker moments, but it is also fun...perfect summer listen for vacation.

A very good read

Great story, action, sex, and intrigue. Exactly what I am looking for in a series. Narrator did a very good job and kept the story flowing well.

The absolute best

I have listened to many series and yet I return to this one for several reasons. 1. K C is an excellent writer with the ability to give her characters depth to the degree that it is rare. 2. She can seamlessly bels humor, tragedy, hot sex without even changing the subject. 3. K C chose Mr Petkoff to narrate her series and he is utterly masterful. Over the different books and adding of characters he continued to amaze me. You will know who is speaking simply by his voice. He has the sexiest accents I have ever heard in the males yet can still do the women’s voices so they 2 are recognizable and not be annoying.

In all the hundreds of books I have, Kresley Cole’s Immortals after Dark Series May be my favorite series.

Repeatedly listen to this one

What made the experience of listening to A Hunger Like No Other the most enjoyable?

I absolutely LOVE the narrator. Robert Petkoff is probably the best narrator I've ever had the immense pleasure of listening to. I get wrapped up in the story so much that I feel I'm in it. The writing is brilliant. I expected romance books to be hokey or poorly written but NO SIR Kresley Cole is creative and witty.

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Hunger Like No Other?

Oh man... so many. The rain scene at the beginning, Lachlain MacRieve is on the edge. Later on he vows not to touch her as she suckles him and he breaks the headboard begging her to release him from his vow... I could keep going!

What does Robert Petkoff bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Phew... He brings some serious complex levels of heat. His accents, his acting, it really puts you in the scene. His anger when he plays Lachlain MacRieve and his sass when he's reading a Valkyrie. The range is so big you forget it's just one person reading.

A sexy vampire romance done pretty well...

Where does A Hunger Like No Other rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This was a sexy vampire thriller that compared well to any other I have listened to. It got me through a bad case of the flu while stuck in bed for a day or so.

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Hunger Like No Other?

As with most of these, it was the moment when the lovers realize they love each other and the first embrace takes place. Although these moments are predictable in such books, when well done, who cares? I enjoyed it and that's what matters to me.

What about Robert Petkoff’s performance did you like?

Robert Petkoff did a fine job and I will look for him again.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book did not make me cry, but I do remember laughing a little. I compare listening to this, to eating a nicely decadent box of chocolates. You know you shouldn't but you cannot resist, and well, sometimes chocolate is just what you need---not a great and glorious message, not a bowl of salad or a carrot, but something fun, romantic, and sexy, which this books delivers.

Magically Delicious

Worth the credit indeed. For months I’ve red reviews on how great this story and series is. I have always skipped this book and I truly regret it. This story is so detailing and beautiful. A beautiful love story. An awesome adult paranormal version of Beauty and The Beast. I highly recommend. The characters are all individually unique. Funny, action packed and steamy.
