There, her fear of the Lykae - and their notorious dark desires - ebbs as he begins a slow, wicked seduction to sate her own dark cravings.
An all-consuming desire....
Yet when an ancient evil from her past resurfaces, will their desire deepen into a love that can bring a proud warrior to his knees and turn a gentle beauty into the fighter she was born to be?

"A unique romance - it truly stands on its own!" (Sherrilyn Kenyon, New York Times bestselling author)
The first book of the Immortals After Dark series rates at the top of my list of excellent stories read by great narrators.
I love that the IAD series is set in a contemporary world, just below the radar of humanity.
Where do I start? There isn't a voice or an accent he can't do. He is THE sexiest narrator I've ever listened to, and I've listened to scores of audio books.
Uh, mostly it made we want to keep a cold bottle of water nearby. However, yes, I did laugh and cry. When such a great male narrator can bring a sensuous paranormal romance to life, you just hold on for all you're worth.
I've already read the entire IAD series in paperback and ebook forms. It is one of the best ever written in this genre. Now I'm listening to the audio versions. Robert Petkoff is a rare find in the world of romance narrators. Lovers of erotic romance stories shouldn't miss this opportunity to hear him read A Hunger Like No Other.
The series is sexy, intelligent, clever, adventurous, romantic, and suspenseful. I love the world Lara Adrian wove around her characters.
The story line was good, it took me a while to get into the story. But as the characters are developing, it does become harder to put the ipod down. Liked the fact the author focuses mostly on the feelings and experiences of the male lead character, and his obsessions towards his destined mate.
The male character narrations by Mr. Petkoff are intoxicating, and that alone made the story worth listening to.I felt his narration work for the female lead, left something to be desired. The voice/accent combination he uses for makes her sound ditsy and ends up undermining the strong and independent female i feel the author is trying to create towards the end of the story line.
Yes the narration kept up a great pace, adjusting correctly to all scenarios.
I would say no...but since that's exactly what i ended up doing;YES!
I've read the series and thought I'd listen to it. The narrator did a great job on male voices and their accents. I didn't care for his female narration though. I may try book 2 but this may be a series where it's just better to read than listen.
I am thrilled that the Immortals After Dark series is becoming available in audio format. This is the best paranormal romance series out there, in my opinion, and I've read hundreds and hundreds of books in this genre. Robert Petkoff does a fantastic job as narrator for this book. I can't wait to hear his performances of the rest of the books!
no, this is my first, it is a fairly good story, just hard to get into.
The performance was outstanding, I will be looking for more books narrated by him.
Yes, by the end I quite enjoyed it.
I've been looking for a new series after finishing the Black Dagger Brotherhood, Karen Marie Moning's Highlanders and Fever series, and Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series. I think this series is going to compete without much effort. The story line is captivating, the sex is hot, and the characters attach themselves to you. For days after finishing the book I remembered some of the scenes and secretly relived their vivid accounting. It will remain on my list of books to revisit again and again in the future.
Enthralling from the beginning. I enjoyed this one.
Action as well as romance. Not boring.
Would have an enjoyed having a woman depict Emma.
went to get next book and it is not on audible!? hope they get more soon.
The narrator, Robert Petkoff… what can I say, but my goodness this man is talented! I’ve read a couple of reviews where some listeners weren’t impressed with his female voices, but you should take into consideration he had to represent about 15 different personalities in this story. From being a Narrator to Emma, Lachlan, Bo, Regin, Harlan etc. He did a fantastic job for a voice actor. He’s very talented. The majority of the time, I forgot it was one voice actor. His portrayal of Lachlan was perfect!
I give all thumbs up for the choice of using Mr. Petkoff. I’m all for mixing up the romance section with new voices. I was getting a little bored with the same voices.
I love Kresley Cole’s stories. The story is a graphic romance, so beware. If you haven’t read Kresley Cole, it might not be your cup of tea.
