Publisher's summary

Alpha Sylvan Mir‘s efforts to achieve sovereignty for the Weres, Vampires, and other non-humans is made even more difficult when a neighboring wolf Were Pack petitions Sylvan for aid. Someone, or some thing, is raiding the territory of the Snowcrest wolf Weres along the Canadian border. While newly ascended Snowcrest Alpha Zora Constantine, along with Ash, the captain of her guard, awaits the decision of Sylvan's war council, inter-Pack tensions rise. Especially when Ash and Sylvan's centuri Jace develop an unexpected and unwanted primal attraction.

Are the raids just an attempt to secure more territory by rogue Weres? Or is it all a ruse to bring Sylvan and her mate Drake out into the open where they are vulnerable to enemy attacks? When Sylvan and Drake's war party heads north to hunt the rogue raiders, Ash and Jace must decide between duty and the call of their deepest desires.

Love this series

This is a great continuation of this story. I love reading about this world. Unfortunately the narrator is terrible and hard to listen to. Wish they had continued with the reader from the beginning of the series.

Narrator

Narrator has to go! Her voice was terrible. Ruined the entire story for me. At least put in a narrator who can actually bring the characters to life. Instead of this monotone and fast narrator! Just terrible!!!!

A Dissapointment,

I have read this entire series, which is something I never intended to do. I’m not into the Weres and Vampires thing, but I got a kick out of the story and the masterful performance by Maxine Mitchell. She did not narrate this book, which changed the dynamics and detracted from the story. To me it was dull. New characters were the focus, which is fine, but not enough to carry the book. I missed the characters such as Becca, Lara, and Reyna. Jodi just had a cameo appearance. And the book is short, perhaps a blessing this time.

love the series

hate that you changed the narrator because it changes all the voices of the characters we have gotten to know over the last 5 books.

Tangled in Essence

Just Sayin’. This was the shortest book I’ve ever had. There’s so much going on in this book, I had to listen to it twice before I understood what I was hearing. Off to my next Adventure.

Needs slower narration

#1 Con is that the narrator seems to think reading is a speed contest. She speaks too quickly, not pausing between sentences or changes in characters. Just can't get into the story or new characters and then it's over as this is a short book as compared to the rest of the series.

I'm glad book 8 changed to a different narrator than this one. I wish they'd redo this one as it's just horrible.

More!

Wished it was as long as the others in the series. I always enjoyed how all the characters lives and up intertwined with one another.

narrator not all that good.

I missed the other narration of Maxine mitchell. to go 5 or 6 books with one narrator and then switch was frustrating. it didn't flow well. over all I liked the story, it did kinda just stop however.

love the series

Love this series. Have since I first read it. But the change in narrator in the audible series made this book harder to listen to. It lack the fierceness the first narrator had.
