Useful Book for Gigging Musicians, Too

"Rock the Dance Floor!" is an impressive audiobook of rare quality. I am a not a DJ, but as a musician, I found this book to be invaluable. (I think it might be extremely useful for all DJs, especially those just starting out.)

Phil Morse is an experienced DJ, founder of the Digital DJ Tips website and school, an excellent writer, and one of the absolute best audiobook readers I have ever heard. I have bought hundreds of audiobooks and have been disappointed in many of them due to the poor quality of the reading. Phil speaks clearly at a comfortable pace, in a friendly, conversational tone, and, most important, the volume of his voice stays reasonably even and doesn't drop significantly at the end of sentences. If you listen to the audio sample and are satisfied with it, reader-wise, the rest of the book will satisfy you likewise.

Phil sounds similar to author/reader Bill Bryson, but Bill's voice, though very pleasant to listen to, sometimes trails off, volume-wise, at the end of sentences.

If you are a DJ or a gigging musician, I think it's likely that listening to "Rock the Dance Floor" will not be a waste of time.

Really good info for ideas

This is a easy book to listen to and re listen too. The author breaks down djing to help future dj's understand the business and other aspects of djing. I liked listening to it... a lot of it is basic knowledge but the other half is insider info all djs must understand'

Very helpful!!

I found this book very helpful, informative, and useful! Phil Morse does a fantastic job verbalizing and breaking down great tips in a very usable form. I’ve been a DJ for quite a while, and I still learned a ton here. I think this book is great for both beginner DJs and also those with more experience.

All-in-one formula for success as a DJ

If you have love for music and DJing, want to know the industry and how it works, even if you are a beginner, this book covers it all! There was so much that I learned which was valuable info, not just with DJing, but life in general. How to get gigs, what to look out for, how to make money and make sure you get paid for your work. I have still yet to determine which path i would like to take, but this book definitely gave me the knowledge and tools needed for the journey. Thank you Phil!
