Publisher's summary

Countless times throughout our lives, we're presented with a choice to help another soul. Rescuing Ladybugs highlights the true stories of remarkable people who didn't look away from seemingly impossible-to-change situations and instead worked to save animals.

Prepare to be transported to Borneo to release orangutans, Brazil to protect jaguars, Africa to connect with chimpanzees and elephants, the Maldives to free mantas, and Indonesia, the only place where dragons still exist in the wild.

Such an inspiring book

Let me just say if your are going to listen to this book make sure you keep a box of tissues close by, trust me you are going to need it.

After listening to this book and the stories of all the amazing people that decided not to look away but rather do something about it, I’m so inspired to do so much more for animals to be their voice, to invest my time helping change the world for all the amazing creatures that share this world with us.

In the words of Ella Wheeler “And I am my brother's keeper, And I will fight his fight, And speak the word for beast and bird, Till the world shall set things right.”

Please purchase this book you will be inspired.

Heartbreaking & Inspiring

This is such an eye-opening book of people’s experiences with animals. Profound and beautiful; I couldn’t stop listening and I’m sad it’s over. A wonderful book for true animal lovers.

Be aware, it is not all puppies and sunshine. There are some heart wrenching stories in this book. It provokes emotions and hopefully will inspire you to action.

Inspiring listen!

What Skiff calls a memoir is actually profiles and stories with people she has met over the years that all work in animal conservation. It was interesting to hear how many different species people are inspired to work with and how they arrived at their work. It also inspired my daughter and I to watch several of the documentaries that are mentioned by certain conservationists, like Naledi (which was actually on Netflix) and Racing Extinction. I hope to someday shift my career from teaching high school Spanish to teaching more about conservation and the planet!
