    "Great listening"

If you like Zen, this is a must. Chapters like "Beginner's mind" can give you something for a lifetime. Peter Coyote's reading is masterful.

    "A pleasure"

My audio copy is tattered from multiple listens, and I'm eager to buy this in paper form. It's truly profound in its simplicity, and a real pleasure to hear. Coyote's reading is very good, but the recording quality is spotty: some sections are loud and clear, while some are muddy, an effect that at first had me examining my speaker connections for a fault.

    "Don't think... just buy!"

I have listened to this 3 times now... there is so much wisdom in this book. If you listen to this and don't learn something about the world and yourself you won't learn anything anywhere else either.

    "Great Material"

Really interesting. It is a recording I have had on my IPOD for awhile and listened to it a few times. Gets to the heart of Zen.

    "Pure Zen"

I have read many books on Zen and still a beginner in understanding what Zen is pointing to; however, in listening to this book I saw the footprints of the Ox.
The author delivers the message succinctly and purely. I am on my second listening of the book, but it seems that I will be listening to this book many more times.

"Book Great, Reader not so good"

This book was excellent. I loved the content. I will listen to it several more times and as I hold the paper copy, likely read it as well. The reader, however, did not do such a great job. I found his voice uneven and speaking too dramatically as if he were trying to be "mysteriously zen." The recording, also, was not of the highest quality. Would I buy the book again, yes. I think, however, that a better recording could be made.

    "Thought provoking"
What did you love best about Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind?

This book does what a religious and philosophical book should, provoke thought.

Have you listened to any of Peter Coyote’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've never listened to Peter Coyote before, but I like the calmness in his voice and thought it matched the subject matter very well. I cannot speak to how well he pronounced some of the names since I am not familiar with the author's language or religion.

    Any additional comments?

Enjoyed the book and will read it again.
