In this talk, given at the Riverside Church in New York, Eckhart addresses some topics of vital importance. He speaks of the burden of the self and how we become trapped in an exclusively personal sense of identity that becomes a virtual prison. He shows that it is the transcendent dimension that offers freedom from the self. What is the transcendent dimension and how do we access it? Eckhart defines it conceptually and, more importantly, shows us how to experience it for ourselves.
We also learn to differentiate between what IS and the interpretations of our conditioned mind, as well as to recognize and go beyond compulsive and unconscious thinking. You may find that when listening to this powerful talk in a state of receptivity, you naturally connect with the transcendent dimension within you.

Here and now
If you haven't read the Power of now and the new earth you will feel lost. If you have, it's a good listen, but not my favorite.
I really enjoyed listening to this audio book. Eckhart's sense of humour, in depth analysis of the human minds thought process and his teachings of being in the now is an important topic in our modern day westernised society today. For those that have a little trouble with the negative thoughts that run through their mind daily - Eckhart explains exactly why you do this and what you can do to help yourself.
I really appreciate the practical applicable manner in which the author talks about the Transcendence Presence and ways to become aware of It. And also, how to become aware of the thinking and talking voice in our heads that can often become an obstacle to quietness and stillness.
I chose this book knowing the length of it. I enjoyed it very much because it seems to shorten the Power of Now teaching of ego. I am able to refer back to this shorter book more often which I need at this time.
This audiobook is pretty much a repeat, if you are familiar with Tolle's teachings.
I am enjoying and learning much more from the: Your Are Not Your Brain, and The Winner's Brain, also just got: Making A Good Brain Great, looks promising. Too bad audible doesn't have yet an audio version of Dr. John B. Arden's Rewire Your Brain, this book is FANTASTIC, I've learned so much from it. Give it a try, you won't regret it!
