Publisher's summary

In his renowned book Christianity and Liberalism, Machen took a stand for the truth. In these radio talks, Machen exposits the truth for us once more - this time about the supernatural person of Jesus.

"When I was in seminary I discovered these radio addresses by J. Gresham Machen in which he offered a highly accessible and popular presentation of Christian doctrine, and Reformed doctrine at that. I was fascinated by the media savvy of Machen. These lucid radio talks preceded C.S. Lewis's famous broadcasts by several years. I have read and profited from them for decades. Their arguments and illustrations have strongly influenced my preaching. I can't recommend them enough." (Timothy Keller, New York Times best-selling author)

Christology

The narrator was excellent to listen too because he was very expressive and a joy to hear what Machen wrote. In the past years I owned a couple of his paperback books and gave them away to other brothers and sisters in Christ but, I like hearing someone read to me especially after Romans 10: 16-17.

Clearly Written and Read

The content of these radio addresses is an excellent theologically rich discussion of Jesus' deity on a very understandable level. Overall, the subjects addressed are directed specifically at an earlier audience influenced by Neo Orthodoxy. But Machen did an excellent job making his subjects clear. The reader is certainly lively!

Great, but needed to be longer.

Excellent information but no where near exhaustive. This is more of a beginner's crash course, which is fine, but it could have gone into a great more detail.

The Person of Jesus

What a great work of pointing out the numerous texts where Jesus reveals to us a self-disclosure of himself.

Wonderful, if not at first...

Machen is biblical, insightful, and clear, as always. 5 stars. Two thumbs way up.

Most of his dealings with "higher-criticism" are straightforward or under-the-surface, but a few times move almost into the academic.

The narration is great, although it starts out over-reading Machen's "holy indignation". This thankfully turns into a polemical charm that is quite enjoyable and ought to have been characteristic throughout.

Perfect In Length and In Content

This is perfectly done in both length and content just as Machen is known for. The theology is pure and biblically rooted and is in much need for today's church.

Person of Jesus audiobook

Excellent reading by the narrator of the radio broadcasting by Machen. Content is contrasting the Biblical vs. Liberal view of Christ. It is logically argued from the Biblical view to inform Christians of the manipulation of Liberals in word usage to befuddle them.
