    "M K Hudson"

This is not only read very well... the best! It is also such a good read. I read the book, watched the Movie from Netflix, but this was the best. I listen to a lot of books from both Audible, and from I Tunes. I put this book on the very top of the list of books I've read, or listened to. So much history, and such an inspirational work. Like nothing I've ever read. This is a book I will give as a gift to many friend both like minded and non commited Christions / believers in Christ my Lord. No matter your faith, I highly recommed this book to any reader.

    "Great book, wonderfully read..."

I really enjoyed this book when I read it a few years ago, so I decided to try it on Audible. I'm glad I did, I couldn't wait to listen every day! Francine Rivers is a gifted story teller and Kate Forbes did a terrific job of drawing me in.

I highly recommend "The Last Sin Eater" to anyone looking for a satisfying "read".

    "Love"
Would you consider the audio edition of The Last Sin Eater to be better than the print version?

I didn't read the print version.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the interesting turns this story took. The history written in was fabulous.

Have you listened to any of Kate Forbes’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I haven't. But would like to!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I think I did both at different times.

    "A Wee Bit Of Heaven"

Really enjoyed this book but it was hard for me to get into it at first. Miss Rivers has such a wonderful way of telling the gospel. Liked the folklore stories and how you can feel it in your heart when her words pierce your heart with the truth. Thank you for all the good reads. I am a true fan and enjoy all your books!!

    "Worth hearing until the end"

I was really looking forward to hearing this book after the good reviews. I was a bit disappointed as it was a very slow start to me. The narrator's voice bugged me initially so that may have been part of the problem. I also wasn't sure where the story was going until I was several hours in. I ended up really getting into it, though, so I'm glad I kept listening. It was worth it!

Retired CFO, Army wife, Mom of five, Grandma of six, two sons who served in combat, love to read books that reflect my values and faith, love mysteries, historical, military stories, and books that don't waste my time . . . if it doesn't have an ending that was worth the wait, I'm not a happy camper.

    "Appalachian/Scottish History"

The Last Sin Eater is one of the BEST audio books that I have ever listened to. I had never heard of a sin eater before. After listening, I had to research the custom of using sin eaters when a person died, and found that it was common in Europe during the 1800's and that early settlers to the Smoky Mountains probably carried the practice to the Appalachian Mountains for a time. As late as the early 1900's, the practice still existed in Bavaria. How amazing (and crazy) what people do to try to get rid of their sins and make their way into heaven . . . when Jesus Christ has already paid the price in full. Not only is this an incredible lesson in history, it's a wonderful generational story of family and faith. I can't recommend it enough.

    "Heartbreaking and beautiful"
    Any additional comments?

I read this book quite a few years ago and loved it so much I considered it one of the best Christian books I had ever read, so I decided to try the Audible version. While I still loved this book in audio, I guess I have changed a lot since first reading it. I loved the raw emotional journey you go on but this time I really didn't care for the mystical aspects (Lilybet, etc.) and I also didn't like how they went about finding the truth by using dishonest means, even at the very end when they are ringing the death bell to gather everyone. None of those things ruined it for me though. It was still a heartbreaking and beautiful story that I would highly recommend.

    "Another best for Francine Rivers"
Where does The Last Sin Eater rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Forbes' narrating is amazing! I can't imagine reading it myself and enjoying it as much.

What other book might you compare The Last Sin Eater to and why?

Redeeming Love was maybe my favorite Rivers book so far, but easy to see why this was a winner.

What about Kate Forbes’s performance did you like?

Such expression with the accents--I loved it.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Absolutely!

    "WOW….This book is amazing!"
Would you consider the audio edition of The Last Sin Eater to be better than the print version?

I am a book-aholic, this was my very first audio book and I really enjoyed being able to listen as I worked…(type A personality) So yes, the audio was better for me this go round.

Who was your favorite character and why?

A favorite character would be had to choose…I enjoyed each one (with the exception of the really bad guy)

What about Kate Forbes’s performance did you like?

    She was flawless!
