Publisher's summary

Best-selling author Scott Hahn sheds new light on the Mass, offering readers a deeper appreciation of the most familiar of Catholic rituals.

Of all things Catholic, there is nothing that is so familiar as the Mass. With its unchanging prayers, the Mass fits Catholics like their favorite clothes. Yet most Catholics sitting in the pews on Sundays fail to see the powerful supernatural drama that enfolds them. Pope John Paul II described the Mass as "heaven on earth", explaining that what "we celebrate on earth is a mysterious participation in the heavenly liturgy."

The Lamb's Supper reveals a long-lost secret of the Church: The early Christians' key to understanding the mysteries of the Mass was the New Testament Book of Revelation. With its bizarre imagery, its mystic visions of heaven, and its end-of-time prophecies, Revelation mirrors the sacrifice and celebration of the Eucharist.

Beautifully written, in clear direct language, best-selling Catholic author Scott Hahn's new book will help readers see the Mass with new eyes, pray the liturgy with a renewed heart, and enter into the Mass more fully, enthusiastically, intelligently, and powerfully than ever before.

Critic reviews

"Hahn's enthusiasm...is considerable - and infectious. Furthermore, he delivers his arguments with great levity (demonstrated in chapter titles such as "Oath Meal"), which makes The Lamb's Supper quite a tasty read." (Amazon.com review)

In depth look at the mass.

I can now read Revelation with a little more understanding. Dr. Hahn is brilliant Catholic theologian with impeccable Protestant education. I love the mass more, because I am beginning to see it's importance.

The Key to Book of Revelation

Where does The Lamb's Supper rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Right at the top!

What did you like best about this story?

Dr. Scott Hahn shows how the Book of Revelation can help a person understand the Mass and how the Mass can provide the key to Revelation.

Have you listened to any of Scott Hahn’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the first audiobook by Scott Hahn that I have listened to. I have, however, listened to many of his CD's. It was interesting to hear him narrate a book.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes!

Any additional comments?

I had read The Lamb's Supper a few years ago, but got a lot more out of it by listening to the audiobook.

Great book

Great book that opens up what I consider the most intimidating book of the New Testament. For Catholics, you will gain a new appreciation for the mass and its biblical and celestial roots. For Protestants, this book will help in the understanding of why Catholics have been doing the same things on Sunday for hundreds of years.

Dinner invitation accepted

I have owned the hard copy of The Lamb's Supper for many years but always struggled to get through the entire book. As the mother of five, it's difficult to concentrate enough to grasp all the beauty in this book. Getting to listen as I work around the house was a great gift. Scott did a tremendous job with narration.

ties everything together

it all rings true to me. there's alot to absorb. I will buy the physical book and read it more slowly, looking up references, hoping to retain more. I highly recommend this book.

The Mass and the Book of Revelation

Excellent food for thought. Discusses well the Mass and the Book of Revelation. He presents that Mass and Revelation are interconnected and that Mass is the key to understanding the Book. Scott Hahn is an excellent reader. Met my expectations.

Unbelieveably true!

It does get complex for us at times in the story but it is all in there and we ve read it many times in the bible and heard it many times in Mass. is is a different experience for me now when I engage with everyone else in Mass. Scott is the perfect reader.

Very insightful and great reading

Having Dr Hahn read this was great. No one else could have delivered the material with such authenticity and clarity. The book was very illuminating and provided some entirely new (to me- and maybe this era) perspectives on the Mass and on Revelations. A great choice for any Bible scholar and all Catholics.

Great insight.

Incredible teachings. Scott revisist a lot of traditional concepts most likely unknown or forgotten to the cradle Catholics, with that said this book would probably be best utilized through reading of actual text. I feel like audio version doesn't give the substance justice. When listening bring your Bible! Enjoy.
