Publisher's summary

The theme of this four-day retreat: "It's Always Now"

The Now is inseparable from who you are at the deepest level. It is the prerequisite of Being. As you listen to the words on this tape, you participate in the retreat. To "retreat" means to step back - not only from the outer world, but also from the world in your head, the thinking mind. Allow the sound of the words to take you beyond words and beyond sound to the stillness within. Allow the Now to be as it is and so realize the formless essence of the Now as consciousness itself.

Suggested practice: use the lesson throughout the day.

  • Lesson 1: What is your relationship with the present moment?
  • Lesson 2: Get into your body! Practices for inner body awareness.
  • Lesson 3: Using sound as a portal into stillness.
  • Lesson 4: A day spent in silence.
  • Lesson 5: Questions & answers. Being present, amidst the world.
  • Lesson 6: Questions & answers. The power of detachment and surrender.

Blessings on your Journey into your Self.

    Inspiring and calming

I have both of Tolle's books, but this siminar is a different experience and a very pleasant listen. His voice is so slow and soothing. He shows his excellent and subtle sense of humor. I can listen again and again.

    Laughing

The one guy constantly obnoxiously laughing in the audience I know it’s ironic since we’re supposed to accept everything but he was SO LOUD and EXTRA 😂😂 first couple times I ignored it but someone shouldn’t kicked him out

Puts me in a better state of mind

I don't necessarily agree with everything Eckhart says, yet this audiobook puts me into a better state of mind and doesn't get old. His balanced state comes through in his tone of voice and slow pacing, which annoys some, but calms me. It decreases my sense of struggle and internal complaining, thus increasing my endurance when working late into the night. I listen to it as I work (write software), and sometimes on a low volume to fall asleep to. Because this is unscripted, it's much better to listen to than Eckhart reading one of his published books. I also prefer this over a couple of audiobooks I heard from his other retreats. Besides his perspective on The Now, he's great at delivering entertaining stories and quips, and he can be totally hilarious at times.

The other reviews are spot on

What made the experience of listening to The Journey Into Yourself the most enjoyable?

Well, laughing man was very bothersome. At first he's not there but later laughing man wears on your nerves and takes away from the message.

this recording is full of joy

when i read the review for this recording prior to purchase, i recall comments regarding a gentleman wo laughed throughout the seminar. it is true, the gentleman laughs loud and often, but i find the laughter so full of joy, and it connects with the indwelling joy of Eckhart Tolle to such a degree that it adds a unique light to this recording. each recording/teaching is meaningful, this one, i feel is unique BECAUSE of the laughter and joyous spirit the gentleman unwittingly brought to the seminar, and was unwittingly recorded for ALL of us to share in.

this is a must-have for your audible Tolle library shelf, you will not be disappointed~and if the man's laughter bothers you, you must honestly ask, what negativity is the laughter igniting within you, and for what reason?

    I loved this book

Eckhart Tolle is Eckhart Tolle. he is one of the few spiritual people, who is in my opinion is authentic. he's a humble man and what he shares is a simple truth based on our own experience. I strongly recommend this book for anyone. Enjoy it and enjoy yourself.

it's challenging to listen to the audience

Someone in the audience thinks everything Eckhart says is hilarious. literally everything. but Eckhart is great as always

    This is a must listen!!

Don’t be fooled by other reviewers that were put off by the guy laughing. I almost hesitated buying this audio because of it, but my intuition told me disregard that and listen anyways. The guy laughing is really only for a small blip of this recording.

With that being said, this audio is powerful and resonated with me on a soul level. Some good reminders for living in stillness and observing the mind without getting sucked into the useless chatter. I think everyone will get something out of this recording. Refreshing and energizing!
