Publisher's summary

The Holy Qur'an was revealed in Arabic over 1400 years ago for the whole of humanity to the last prophet in Islam, Muhammad (peace be upon him). Written down and recorded as it was revealed, The Holy Qur'an remains unchanged, even to this day. The Holy Qur'an is considered the greatest miracle given to the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

This is a Modern English reading of the interpretations and the meanings of the Holy Qur'an, based on interpretations of the meaning by Dr Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Dr Muhammad Muhsin Khan.

To understand the complete meaning and spiritual messages we recommend that listeners learn Arabic and read in the language of the Holy Qur'an. The Holy Qur'an is best learned with teachers and study circles.

This production in the English language is only an interpretation of the Arabic.

Awesome narration

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. Probably everyone should read or listen to the Quran. We need to understand Islam. Also, look into supportive literature that will assist you in understanding the Quran.

What other book might you compare The Holy Qur'an to and why?

The Old Testament.

What does Kevan Brighting bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

A commanding performance. Wonderful to listen to.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me sad in some ways. To me the Quran is very punitive making it known that all will burn in hell eternally if they don't believe in Allah. I believe in Allah, but I don't think Allah is as harsh as he is described in the Quran.

Any additional comments?

Listening to the Quran made me think of the Old Testament. I just can't believe in a God that is as cruel as the one in either the Quran or the Old Testament. I don't know how the followers of either book can live in so much fear.
It is said that Allah chooses who he will to understand the Quran and if you don't understand the Quran it's because he doesn't want you to. So maybe Allah does not want me to understand the Quran.

not a perfect version

I chose this version because of the narrator's clear reading voice. My guess is that words were chosen in this translation for their exact meaning as if a computer did it. It is as if some of the spirit of the text was lost in the process.

Qur'an Volume III

I have to say I've enjoyed the English translation thus far. I love how the Quran honors all walks of faith, speaks of life events such as the Miracle of Life. Listening to these volumes is helping to have a greater grasp of Islam and diminish any false truths and myths that the media and American society has fed into the minds and hearts of people. Beautifully narrated. I love Allah!

it s the qur'an . how can you really judge it

Would you listen to The Holy Qur'an again? Why?

its the holy book of millions of people. its nice to hear what the Qur'an really says and not what other people say it says.

Any additional comments?

interesting to people interested in learning about others. like the bible or any other book, I'm sure some Muslims take every word as lord, just as some Christians read the Bible. it's up to the reader to listen and see what sticks. maybe its hindu, or whatever. enjoy the journey of exploration and being educated .

The Holy Qur’an - Volume III, chapter 25 to 144

This is the holy book in the Qur’an - in English volume three chapter 25 through 144. I was seeking to find out what the Qur’an actually said in Lieu of hearing others say something.

It’s ALLAH not Allahr

This book would be perfect if the author could just pronounce the Owner of the Supreme Throne name right consistently.
