Publisher's Summary

Corrie ten Boom was a Dutch watchmaker who became a heroine of the Resistance, a survivor of Hitler's concentration camps, and one of the most remarkable evangelists of the 20h century.

In World War II she and her family risked their lives to help Jews and underground workers escape from the Nazi's, and for their work they were tested in the infamous Nazi death camps. Only Corrie among her whole family survived to tell the story of how faith ultimately triumphs over evil. Here is the riveting account of how Corrie and her family were able to save many of God's chosen people.

For 35 years millions have seen that there is no pit so deep that God's love in not deeper still. Now The Hiding Place, repackaged for a new generation of readers, continue to declare that God's love will overcome, heal and restore.

    "Puts your eyes on God"

This book helped me to really put suffering in perspective and encouraged me to trust God even when I simply do not understand what is going on around me. This is a tru story and eases from the mondaine life of a 50 year old spincer who lives a rithmic life of ruteen that turns into a world of crushing nightmares. In the middle of this horific picture of human depravity Gods hand is still able to be sceen and His love felt. This book will be read every few years to help me refocus on the important things in life.

    "Life Has Purpose"

This is a true, first person account of a horrific situation, where hopelessness and despair have become a way of life. Corrie ten Boom, and her family are given the opportunity to put their faith in God into action and show what He can do.
The setting is Holland during the German occupation. The ten Boom's create a 'Hiding Place' for the Jews until they can be smuggled out of Holland. This is the story of how they were able to help many Jews to escape and the price that they paid for doing so.
This is a a story where we can see that God has His hand in all situations, and how He will use even our small faith to do mighty things, if only we put our lives into His hands.
A great Listen that will help you see God in even the most difficult situations.

    "Inspiring"

Perhaps the greatest book I have ever read. It is hard to say anything meaningful about such a meaningful, beautiful, poetic, inspiring life and book. The lessons of love, God, forgiveness, fulfilling personal potential, hope, persistence, and ... love are astoundingly real and relatable in this book. I will love this book and read it again and again and pass it down to my children and their children. A book that can and should last forever.

    "A truly wonderful book"

I loved this book. Not only did I marvel at the profound sacrifices made during the war years by so many but I also marvelled at how Corrie admitted to her weaknesses and how she was influenced again and again by her angel of a sister Betsy. I hope to be a better person because of this book and allow myself to be guided to do good by Jesus Christ whom these wonderful women became even more acquainted with during their extreme sufferings.

This book is thrilling and quite emotional. It's an amazing story! But, Probably not for younger readers. It takes face to face with the brutal Nazi Germany and teaches you many important life lessons!! Definitely 5 out of 5 stars!!

What an amazing example of the positive light that can come from one, in this case many, who follow the example of love that Christ gave us and not the example of the conditional love we so often give. In spite of our sin, we love Him because He fist loved us. It inspires me to live with the love of Christ in my heart and to spread His love to all the World.

    "Loved it!"

This may be the first book that I've read and then immediately wanted to read it all over again. I almost feel like the Grinch who stole Christmas when his heart grew 3 times the size that day. If you truly want to understand what love is, read this book.

"Wonderful story of love, faith and hope!"

I have read this book several times since my early teens, and each time as I age and grow in live experience I learn more from this beautiful telling of such a horror filled true story. The narration was superbly done, bringing each character even more fully to life than Ms. Ten boom had done in her writing. I highly recommend this audio book!

"Excelent reading of a book I loved many years ago"

I read, The Hiding Place, as a teenager and was really enthralled by Corrie's story. When I saw it on Audible I wondered if it would be read as I read it, It was. It really brought the horror of the Concentration camps and the absolute faith of the sisters to life.

As a grown up it has challenged me to step up my faith and to accept that God is in control, even when it seems I am so far away.

    Fully recommend this.

I listened to this with 5 of my kids aged 14 down to 4.
It was an incredible story to share together.
Beautifully written and beautifully read. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
There were wonderful moments when Corrie and Betsy's faith shone through bringing both laughter and tears. Definitely a book to spur one on to contentment whatever the circumstances.
Such interesting details from family life in Holland to preparing for a raid from the police to surviving a concentration camp.
    Gripping and moving.

"Fantastic.A really heart wrenching real life story"

This is a story about a Family from Holland and their trials faced during the war. This is quite sad in some parts and to know these things really happened is very sobering. The family's strong unshakable faith in Jesus is inspiring. I would recommend this book.

    "Beautifully narrated, very moving story"
What did you like most about The Hiding Place?

The narration. Bernadette Dunne's performance was perfect, with her lilting and gentle voice.

What did you like best about this story?

The testimony to God's strength and Corrie ten Boom and her family's faith. The whole story is beautifully described with some lovely turns of phrase.

What does Bernadette Dunne bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

I really felt that Bernadette Dunne WAS Corrie ten Boom, I felt as if I was listening to her own story.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Many. The descriptions of the living conditions in Ravensbruck were very vivid. The descriptions of her family life were very moving.

    Any additional comments?

This was an utter delight to listen to due to Bernadette Dunne's lilting narration. In spite of the story being ultimately harrowing, it is suffused with hope.
