Publisher's summary

Corrie ten Boom was a Dutch watchmaker who became a heroine of the Resistance, a survivor of Hitler's concentration camps, and one of the most remarkable evangelists of the 20h century.

In World War II she and her family risked their lives to help Jews and underground workers escape from the Nazi's, and for their work they were tested in the infamous Nazi death camps. Only Corrie among her whole family survived to tell the story of how faith ultimately triumphs over evil. Here is the riveting account of how Corrie and her family were able to save many of God's chosen people.

For 35 years millions have seen that there is no pit so deep that God's love in not deeper still. Now The Hiding Place, repackaged for a new generation of readers, continue to declare that God's love will overcome, heal and restore.

Amazing Dutch Underground WW2

Magnificent descriptions of places and events made me feel more like a witness than a listener to this story. I’d read The Hiding Place book years ago and was drawn back to it. I was captivated by this Audible version and finished the book quickly.

Truly Inspiring

I marvel at the strength and tenacity of the prisoners in the camps. It’s nearly impossible to imagine the things they endured yet still carried on. This storing of the ten Boom family and their faith in God and the importance, no, the absolute necessity, of forgiveness reaches deep into my heart and soul. This is a book that gives hope and belief in goodness even among the depths of disparity. It’s message will resonate through you.

a must read for those who believe in a God

when the story started, I thought I was not going to like the book very much. It seemed so whimsical and not at all serious enough for the topic of the Holocaust. however, the beginning helped me to love each character as if they were my own family and I wept for them through their troubles and triumphs.

if you are fiercely against the concept of a God then you should not read this book. while I myself and not religious, the characters and this book to me are true Christians and not just Sunday Christians. we do not learn much of her sister's struggle with her own spirituality and relationship with God but we do learn of Connie struggle and it makes her all the more real and her faith that much more compelling. for this book even though it was Connie who is doing the work all through the book she gave the glory to God just as the Bible says you should but so many Christians fail to do. so therefore if you are religious absolutely read this book and you will fall in love with Connie and her family's faith.

the detail inscribed in this book is immeasurable. you can see everything in your mind I just the way it's described. without ever seeing a portrait of Connie and her family I know what each of them look like. I started him finish this book and one day I could not stop because it was so compelling to me to finish it.

this book it's about the Holocaust but it also has a moral. and not just the religious moral of God will see you through all things immoral about how love perseveres and that no matter what you have been through you can learn to love again.

Humbling

Betsy is the perfect picture of being surrendered fully to Christ that allowed Christ's love, compassion, strength, and power to flow through her to others. Corrie is an example of somebody who loves and is dedicated to Christ, yet still battles with the natural human responses to hardships. What an amazing story of God's demonstration of forgiveness, love and grace working through believers to bring His hope, love, healing, and salvation to hurting people. Jesus gave them both victory over the enemy in extreme circumstances.
