The best book for any Christian Wife

The best book for any Christian wife to become the excellent wife God intended for you to be. Please be prayed up before reading this book because it is truly heavy hitting but oh what a blessing. I am getting ready to listen to it again and I am reading the. Ok as well and taking notes. The scripture reference makes it easy to grasp because the author points you straight to the Word of God for everything. Thank you so much.

Not good

I didn't finish the book before returning it because the narrator sounds like a robot. It was difficult to stick with the book because of this. From what I did hear, the book itself was really good. Maybe just buy the actual book and not the audio version.

Great biblical points! Hard to hear and even harder to live out, but biblical none the less. Great resource for counseling, especially premarital.

Excellent indeed

I read this in preparation for teaching Sunday School to better teach on both roles. I found this to be the best resource I read on the topic. It was informative, thoroughly scriptural, convicting, applicable, and direct even for me as a man who hopes to be a husband. Seeing the caliber of calling upon the wife was challenging for husband's responsibility.

One of my new favorites on Christian life and growth.

The narrator wasn't the best but passable.

Not for the abused wife!

If you suspect you are at all in an abusive relationship (mental, emotional, physical, spiritual), do *not* read this book. 1 in 3 women are in abusive relationships and are *often* referred to books like this. If you are in an abusive relationship, see authors like Sydney Millage, Chris Moles, or Joy Forrest.

A little too in-depth and prescriptive

I tried hard to like this book because it was on the ACBC recommended list. But I honestly can’t tell you if it’s the lady reading it or the writing, actually it’s probably both, that made this a slight pain to read/listen to. This book is ideal for someone who needs their hand held through a rough marriage and has absolutely no idea how to interact with their husband in a godly way. A lot of us wives know what the right thing to do is, or the right thing to say, we just choose to be self-centered instead. But this book takes a lot of time to give you examples of what to say to your husband or how to act towards him. So because of that, I recommend it to new believers or women who have had no real godly mentorship in their life. It’s too specific and gets rather annoying for those of us who know what the right thing to do is. I did find the last chapter rather helpful as I’d experienced deep hurt in this area years ago and found her suggestions helpful and something I would’ve appreciated earlier. Still, it’s rather cut and dry and I hate saying things that could be hurtful to others, so I’m sorry if the narrator reads this, but... she is not a good reader and shouldn’t be reading for audible. I had to speed the reading up to 1.75x to get through the book before I gave it up entirely.
