When you pray, are you talking to a God who exists? Or is God nothing more than your "imaginary friend", like a playmate contrived by a lonely and imaginative child?
When author Sam Harris attacked Christianity in Letter to a Christian Nation, reviewers called the book "marvelous" and a generation of readers - hundreds of thousands of them - were drawn to his message. Deeply troubled, Dr. Ravi Zacharias knew that he had to respond.
In The End of Reason, Zacharias underscores the dependability of the Bible along with his belief in the power and goodness of God. He confidently refutes Harris's claims that God is nothing more than a figment of one's imagination and that Christians regularly practice intolerance and hatred around the globe.
If you found Sam Harris' Letter to a Christian Nation compelling, this audiobook is exactly what you need. Dr. Zacharias exposes "the utter bankruptcy of this worldview." And if you haven't read Harris' book, Ravi's response remains a powerful, passionate, irrefutably sound set of arguments for Christian thought. The clarity and hope in these words will reach out to listeners who know and follow God as well as to those who reject God.

College English professor who loves classic literature, psychology, neurology and hates pop trash like Twilight and Fifty Shades of Grey.
via youtube in his talks and debates for some time now and especially respect his response to the vitral and hatred that spews forth from the "new atheists," headed up by Dawkins, Dennett, Harris and Hitchens. This book is the encapsulation of that argument against this false attack on Christianity and is a must read for the Christian in our current times.
Yes, good for people who hate reading. Philosophy is often dry on paper. This has the feel of a classroom lecture. A book would be good to highlight memorable points. Audio is hard for note taking, good for quick learning.
His knowledge of religion like Hinduism, Atheism, Christianity and Islam are unparalleled. With respect, he demolishes falsehoods.
...Rovi Zacharias was well performed.
The end of reason
Great book, I plan to buy several just give away!
This is one of the best books I've ever listened to! It is a must listen to for anyone who is trying to understand God!
The End of Reason is a very effective rebuttal to the hypocritical and tyrannical stances of those who rabidly spew verbal waste in their quest of reviling a God that they don't want to exist. They can inflict no harm to God himself so they seek dictatorial and tyrannical methods akin to Pol Pot, Hitler, and Stalin on those who believe to attempt to quite them and those who correctly refuse to accept their empty, false and delusional stance. Ravi Zacharias brings reason while the opposition regardless of the soundness of his rebuttal, will refuse sound thinking and reason.
This book should convince any person of the reality of their Creator - GOD. It's hard to refute the assertions and conclusions the author has come to
Ravi addresses many of the arguments given by the New Atheists. He does so in a very effective and coherent way. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is either considering the counterarguments to the New Atheists, or Christians who would like to have their faith strengthened.
I loved the book. Every believer needs to read books like this, we have a great REASON for the hope that we have and Ravi proves it in this book. WE have nothing to fear intellectually or spiritually
I appreciate Ravi's in depth research that gives us the tools we need to show the Truth of Christ's Love to a skeptical secular world.
Ravi absolutely nailed all points as he combats the hypocrisy of modern atheist who claim that their is no moral compass but then like to point to morality when it fits their agenda. The Holy Spirit is wide awake in Ravi and he flows out it this book.
"Refutes? Where's the concrete evidence?"
What a nightmare.
