Revolutionize Your Health ...Once and for All...
During an afternoon of baptizing over 800 people, Pastor Rick Warren realized it was time for change. He told his congregation he needed to lose weight and asked if anyone wanted to join him. He thought maybe 200 people would sign up, instead he witnessed a movement unfold as 15,000 people lost over 260,000 pounds in the first year. With assistance from medical and fitness experts, Pastor Rick and thousands of people began a journey to transform their lives.Welcome to The Daniel Plan.
Here's the secret sauce: The Daniel Plan is designed to be done in a supportive community relying on God's instruction for living. When it comes to getting healthy, two are always better than one. Our research has revealed that people getting healthy together lose twice as much weight as those who do it alone. God never meant for you to go through life alone and that includes the journey to health.
Unlike the thousands of other books on the market, this book is not about a new diet, guilt-driven gym sessions, or shame-driven fasts. The Daniel Plan shows you how the powerful combination of faith, fitness, food, focus, and friends will change your health forever, transforming you in the most head-turning way imaginably - from the inside out.

No, not really. To be honest, I also found the program associated with it kind of amateurish and based, to some extent, on a faulty premise.
Perhaps it's a personal conceit, but I constantly felt I was twelve and be lectured by my father. Perhaps it was the author's and/or narrator's style. I'm not sure. It was just an impression, and I'm not excluding the possibility that any other reasonable person could walk away with an entirely different viewpoint.
This book really wasn't about character's. While individuals certainly figure prominently with the tapestry of the book, it is more about lifestyle change than character development.
In so far as there are tools here for a healthier lifestyle, and in so far as I am a proponent for Christian living, I'd say yes. Unfortunately, the writing style ranks up there with most dryly written college textbooks.
This book has to be read or listened to in conjunction with a Daniel Plan program in order for it to have value.
Love reading but don't always have time to read. Wife and Mother of 3 kids. Best suggestion my girl friend gave me.
Exciting, Eye opening, Exactly
This book help put all the aspects in life and work them in your good for your body. All other diet alway seem to leave something out. This book is able to take the 5 "F's" and work them in my life. Faith+Food+Fitness+Focus+Friends makes this journey so much fun and easy to transition to. I have seen a change in me and my church family and I thank God for not giving up on me. Rick Warren and his group of doctors for helping him with this book. It is changing lives so that I can reach my protential.
I have not listen to any of his other works but I would be interested in finding out more about them.
This book was writen to me because it seem to bust every myth I had and give me some sound advise that I could look up bibically. I laugh when he says something that I was thinking.
This audio was so good I had to go out and get the book and the journal. The audio help to keep me on track and I can always go back and hear what I need to listen to again.
Teaches how to eat the right way...the way God intended!
Any clean eating book. Talks about eating organic and how God has given us all we need.
Food...the way God intended!
Definitely recommend. This is not a diet, it's a lifestyle change. America needs this book badly!
I love to read Christian books and listening to Audible books while I work around the house is amazing. I try to live a simple healthy life.
This is for people who are looking to feel better physically. And mentally and spiritually
So much amazing info
No scene ..just amazing teaching which is possible
Buy this for your health
I have limited mobility so the kindle has allowed me freedom to buy and enjoy materials without leaving home. Love it.
I did not like this book because I was not able to follow along, neither was I able to check back to previously read sections. The marterial was useful, just could not coordinate with the study guide. Guess I need the book in hand so that I can mark it, as needed
Not an audio book
I think it was just not the format for me
Yes, I am doing it online. It is a good plan. It makes you think about what you are eating and why
It also helps you to grow spiritually.
If you've read any nutritional books or listened to nutritional podcasts, you've heard this stuff before. Not saying it's not valuable, but it's nothing I haven't heard before. Maybe it's just not scratching the itch of what I need right now. The authors of this book doesn't seem to realize that many of us do not speak the language of food, or barely know how to prepare our own food...thus, statements like: "eat seaweed and mushrooms...live a little, go crazy" just completely fall on deaf ears. Also, I think the content here would have been absorbed better in visual form. Listening to it just isn't connecting with me.
The Pro: I did like the stuff about depending on God, rather than on your own willpower. This is NOT something you get with most other eating plans. I appreciated it, and it may well be my big takeaway from the book.
The Con: I found the narrator plodding and distracting. From odd pronunciations -- (exercise (eck-shur-size), strength (shtrength), impediments (im-peed-uh-mints) -- to a generally detached reading style, he became an issue for me. And a narrator should never be an issue, unless he is an enhancement.
I am already familiar with Rick Warren and Daniel Amen. I respect them both. I know less about Mark Hyman, although I have read some of his stuff in recent months. I think he's the reason I'm not connecting here. Probably just a stylistic thing.
I felt a change in my self from the first chapter. Very easy to listen to and follow. Looking forward to living a more healthy lifestyle with God's help!
This book was just another version of Mark Hyatt's current books such as Blood Sugar Solution. The difference is the author and reader ties everything in to religion. I prefer to read just the facts without all the religious discussion.
