Great example to follow

Knowing a bit of his life story, I was very interested to read of his convictions and beliefs. This did not disappoint. Very humble perspective on our need for Christ and our inability to live rightly apart from Christ.

We are here -by His decision -for such a time as this.
Walk in His resurrection power, eyes off of the waves and ourselves- eyes only on Jesus.
He is the Author and Finisher of our faith.
This is a beautiful treatise on the life of Jesus living through His church. Listen! Shema!!

The man was true to his convictions of God’s word.

It reminds me that if Jesus suffered on the cross, and for the sins of this world, how much more will man suffer without God’s word written in his heart.

This book is the book that lead me to audible.com The way the author writes was just to advance/ hard or whatever. I had to get in a quite space and with no distraction just to comprehend.
So I searched for a audio book and I found it. Its a lot easier to listen to.

A worthwhile read

Dietrich Bonhoeffer has given us an honest and fearless story of one mans life to standup for what he believed in at the cost of his life. A must read for anyone in today’s world. I don’t have enough time in my life to say all that I would like to say about Dietrich Bonhoeffer. We have been blessed by his life.

Really needs study with print version

This was a great overview and i got a lot out of this book. However, i constantly had the feeling that i was missing a lot, and needed to actually look at the verses being referenced. For this reason, I think the book should also be read. I recommend listen to it first, then follow with the print version and give it some study. That is my plan, anyway.

Do yourself a favor and purchase this book. This is just a great book in which Bonhoeffer breaks down the sermon on the mount in such a spectacular way. Then looks to advice on how to apply the teaching of Christ. I love Bonhoeffer because he's an "obedience" guy and so was Jesus. To be a disciple you much obey. As you look at Bonhoeffer's life you realize he truly believed this and ultimately walked it out until the day of his martyrdom. Bonhoeffer is one of my favorite people to study and read. His life story truly is remarkable.
