According to Pastor Mark Batterson in this unabridged audio download, The Circle Maker, “Drawing prayer circles around our dreams isn’t just a mechanism whereby we accomplish great things for God. It’s a mechanism whereby God accomplishes great things in us.”
Do you ever sense that there’s far more to prayer, and to God’s vision for your life, than what you’re experiencing? It’s time you learned from the legend of Honi the Circle Maker - a man bold enough to draw a circle in the sand and not budge from inside it until God answered his prayers for his people.
What impossibly big dream is God calling you to draw a prayer circle around? Sharing inspiring stories from his own experiences as a circle maker, Mark Batterson will help you uncover your heart’s deepest desires and God-given dreams and unleash them through the kind of audacious prayer that God delights to answer.

I liked the message of the book the most. I liked the lengthy and repetitive nature of the book the least. The entire point could have been made in a much shorter version of the book. It also leaves one feeling that "all you have to do is pray like this, and see....your prayers will all be answered like ours were." I believe the author is sincere, not arrogant. Just leaves those of us with unanswered prayers wondering what we did wrong.
The author is very expressive and encouraging in detailing how to pray and how to have a better relationship with the Lord. Praying takes time and when we pray, the Lord blesses us with fellowship and answers our prayers. Maybe not always like we want them, but we have hope for even more than we could think to ask for.
I love Marks description of how much God loves us and wants to bless us more than what we could even ask for. The best line in the book that will stay with me forever is "work like it depends on me and pray like it depends on God". I can and will work hard, but ultimately, it all depends on God working out every detail for His glory.
No, this is the first book of his I have read. I have gifted this book to three other people since I've listened to it twice myself. Each has been totally blessed.
It made my heart have hope, hope for more from God. Hope that He wants to give me His blessings for my life.
I'm a pastor in a church in Big Flats, NY, between Corning and Elmira. I have served here 32 years. I enjoy listening to Audible books while I'm working out at Planet Fitness, or while doing outside work on my day off. I normally listen to books on 2x.
YesThis book will challenge you to pray with faith, pray big, and pray with perseverance! The focus is on God who loves you and is for you, and will give you answers to prayer greater than you pray for.
The story of getting the theater in Barracks Row
It will be hard to put it down once you start
Great stories, excellent narration and thought provoking ideas and suggestions.
Multiple stories were of great interest and worth sharing with others.
First time listening to anything by Mark. Very good!
Yes. At no point in the recording did either the story or narrator lose my full interest.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the subject of prayer, faith or one's purpose in life. Very inspiring work.
Have not read the book, audio only.
The way it challenged me to rethink the way I pray and how I expect God's hand to reveal itself in my life.
No ... First time. He is easy to listen to. He has a very down to earth and genuine inflection in his voice.
I guess I did. It's made me rethink the way I pray. Challenged me to new levels of boldness and understanding of prayer. I cannot recommend this book highly enough to anyone seeking a better understanding of the power of prayer and miracles in daily life.
All I can say is that I am now a circle maker!
Happy Wife and Mom
A must read twice through! So many inspiring truths and stories that will spur your faith to seek and ask for more!
I thought the Circle Maker was encouraging and uplifting. Reconnecting to God in prayer is a critical need for Christians. We often feel worn out, tired, and even lost. By remembering to use our primary point of connection with God we can grow and learn to experience Him in the ways that help us on our life journey.
