Publisher's summary

Leading New Testament scholar Robert M. Price has taken umbrage at the cavalier manner in which Rev. Lee Strobel has misrepresented the field of Bible scholarship in his book The Case for Christ. Price exposes and refutes Strobel's arguments chapter-by-chapter. In doing so, he has occasion to wipe out the entire field of Christian apologetics as summarized by Strobel. This book is a must-read for anyone bewildered by the various books published by Rev. Strobel.

Intrigued an thought provoking

Although I too was raised a Christian-(Catholic) I no longer believe in the divinity of Jesus. Price has put into words how I've felt about religions in general for some time. However I didn't quite delve into the scriptures and he has. I do find much of what he puts forward logical and sounf. Such as the inconsistencies in the meaning of terms and words. Unlike Dr. Price I do not shunt away the belief of a higher power (God) aside. Just because the text before me no longer measures up. I'am not a Christian nor am I an Atheist. But just a believer in something, I know no one can really or ever will be able to understand.
I've now listened to both sides Dr. Price and Rev. Strobel's books. They both are men of intelligence and even biases. but aren't we all.
I suggest you if you are interested in this subject, not just to one but sides. Then makes your own mind who MIGHT be right.

This is what Lee Strobel doesn't want you to hear

And that's why he asked only apologists in his book. If you've heard Case for Christ, hear this book because it complements it.

A staggering epiphany

After reading Strobel's book I was left with more questions than answers. When I found this I immediately downloaded and after the first three chapters I was completely engrossed. Price's narrating style melds perfectly with his writing, and is as good as the book itself. I was surprised at how many times I found myself laughing while listening; he is a treasure of one-liners and dry wise cracks.

I admittedly had to do some cross-referencing for some biblical terms. Some of the book is a bit esoteric ("they didn't teach me THAT in Sunday school!") but it is absolutely worth putting a little work into Goggle scholarly for understanding.

Eviscerates Apologetics with a Smile

Whether or not you've read The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel, Price's rebuttal is worth your time. Point by point he exposes the weaknesses (lies) of evangelical Christian apologetics. And he further summarizes the strengths of critical biblical scholarship. As a bonus, Price has a flair for metaphor that at times is laugh out loud funny! Great listen!

Thumbs down for Strobel. Thumbs up for Price.

"The Case For Christ" is nothing more than a collection of bad arguments, bad logic, and bad historicity. Dr. Price exposes Rev. Strobel and the apologists he interviews as nothing more than Theological salesmen. They twist, insert, and omit whatever they can to sale their particular version of Christianity. But Dr. Price doesn't stop at Rev. Strobel and his band of text worshipers. Even those who don't hold every account in the New Testament as literal will, after listening to this book, find the authenticity of the Gospels themselves as suspect. And he demonstrates his case with actual evidence.

Excellent, as usual for Dr. Price

The only small critique is it was sometimes hard to know when he was quoting something, or speaking for himself. Later in the book, he started putting "quote" around quotations. Maybe I missed them earlier in the book.

I really love the accents he uses. Classic Price.

Informative, Entertaining, and Surprisingly Funny

Robert Price is engaging and his arguments are well thought out. I was not expecting to find myself laughing while listening as much as I did. He adds just the right amount of humor and witticisms.

Highly recommended
