Happy is good. Holy is better.
Your marriage is more than a sacred covenant with another person. It is a spiritual discipline designed to help you know God better, trust him more fully, and love him more deeply. What if God's primary intent for your marriage isn't to make you happy...but holy?
Sacred Marriage doesn't just offer techniques to make a marriage happier. It does contain practical tools, but what married Christians most need is help in becoming holier husbands and wives. Sacred Marriage offers that help with insights from Scripture, church history, time-tested wisdom from Christian classics, and examples from today's marriages.
Sacred Marriage reveals how marriage trains us to love God and others well, how it exposes sin and makes us more aware of God's presence, how good marriages foster good prayer, how married sex feeds the spiritual life, and more.
The revised edition of Sacred Marriage takes into account the ways men's and women's roles have expanded since the book was first written. It has been streamlined to be a faster listen without losing the depth that so many listeners have valued.
Sacred Marriage uncovers the mystery of God's overarching purpose. This book may very well alter profoundly the contours of your marriage. It will most certainly change you. Because whether it is delightful or difficult, your marriage can become a doorway to a closer walk with God and to a spiritual integrity that, like salt, seasons the world around you with the savor of Christ.

I've read many of the comments prior to purchasing this audiobook and chose to purchase it. I listened 4 time already and while going through it myself, I found was the information was timeless, relevant and applicable in very practical terms in order to navigate the journey of marriage.
Audiobook review: It is nice when authors narrate their own work, and this author does a very nice job. The central idea here, listed on the front of the book, cannot be overstated. The author clearly explains and illustrates the idea in the first half of the book, and once that is done the book trails off into "typical marriage book" themes (in my opinion). Totally worth the read/listen for the first half, though.
This book was so beneficial in my journey with God and my engagement. I think it's a must read for any person who is wanting to get closer to God within their relationship. Thank you Gary for God blessing you with the wisdom and delivery to make this book happen. I am truly grateful for being able to read this and will recommend it to others. Stay blessed :)
I have read hundreds of books on marriage over the past 27 years - this is one of the best, if not the best! I very strongly recommend this to every married couple....happy or not happy....this is what everyone needs! I have had a really good marriage for 27 years. now I am working on making it a great one with this book. Am going to ask my husband to listen to it with me now.
This book was well written, it has a lot of history references. So if you know a bit of history it gives you a new insights. The reader is awesome, very engaging. Must listen, even purchasing physical book.
This is a great book with good content but I was very disappointed when in chapter 11 about 11mins into it the sound stopped the progress bar still moves indicating it is still playing but no sound is coming out.
