What is the most essential trait for an effective healer or teacher? Intelligence, skill, and compassion are important, explains Eckhart Tolle, but without presence, our work in service of others falls short of its potential.
Practicing Presence is a retreat for health practitioners, educators, spiritual teachers—or anyone who shares wisdom—offering more than seven hours of Eckhart’s practical advice for those fostering transformation in others.
Covering a wide range of challenges and concerns specific to the helping professions, Eckhart discusses:
“To be there as nobody special—simply as a field of awareness—that’s the essence of being a successful healer or teacher,” explains Eckhart. For anyone working to support the well-being of others, Practicing Presence brings you an empowering series of pointers and guidelines for lasting transformation and healing.
Please note that due to the environment in which these talks were recorded, the listener may notice some extraneous noise or hiss. This should not significantly affect the overall delivery of Eckhart's teaching.

This is a very helpful guide for people in the service business that have come to a level of awakening. How to bring this new awareness into your work and life. Tolle brings his presence into this workshop in a remarkable way and guides you into being more present yourself while listening to his teachings. The audio quality is absolutely acceptable and one can hear him clearly. If you are looking for a helping hand to infuse your work and life with a level of awareness of the highest standard, this is it!
Just to set the record straight, I reviewed Meditation and Psychotherapy accidently as another book I got, unfortunately it will not allow me to change anything but the stars, Audible said you cannot change it or delete. the book is AWESOME! Tara Brach is Awesome! The book I was rating I returned and was aweful. sorry
Yes many times, because, with Tolle it is about grasping a concept and you might not get it the first time as you might not be ready, this book will be very helping in helping others going through trauma and pain, so th emore I listen to it th emore I can retain.
The lessons on presences and spaciousness.
Eckharts audio are much bett than reading because you can feel the inflection and understand and absorb better listening.
The comments about the audio has not affected my listening to this, it hasnt bothered me at all, there were a couple of times where you hear some type of noise such as maybe his mouth brusing the mic, but honestly it is a live recording. I wouldnt let that stopme from buying this great audio book.
this audio is the voice of the unmanifest in the manifest world. to appreciate it - allow yourself to experience what is being said , not intellectualize....
This has some of the funniest things I have heard him say after listening to 15+ of his books! If you want more stories of His past life this has about the most of them I've found so far. People asked a lot of great questions that he answers in this also.
In the top with some of the other Eckhart Tolle audiobooks. He is an incredible teacher, teaches by guided energy not form.
Taking you out of form
I would not recommend this audio book, because the sound quality is very poor. As usual, Eckhart Tolle does an exceptional job, but the sound level is way too low and not real clear.
Eckhart is enlightened and he is able to communicate what it means to be enlightened in very simple but profound ways. In this way he allows you to understand the teachings of Christ the Budda and others that is life changing!
Content was well delivered in Eckhart's style
microphone to close to his mouth when 'laughing' makes for a real distracting listen
"Insightful, mindful, humorous, love it"
I love listening to his lectures. We get to meet the real Eckhart. Wholly entertaining and thought provoking, and useful. Thank you!
"Another excellent programme"
Another excellent programme from Eckhart - a simple yet profound message, from someone who truly understands the power of living in the present moment.
