The aim of Oswald Chambers was all-encompassing: "to shut out every other consideration and keep yourself before God for this one thing only--My Utmost for His Highest... determined to be absolutely and entirely for Him and for Him alone." Oswald Chambers was born in Scotland and spent much of his boyhood there. His ministry of teaching and preaching took him for a time to the United States and Japan.
The last six years of his life were spent as principal of the Bible Training College in London, and as a chaplain to British Commonwealth troops in Egypt during World War 1. After his death, the works which bear his name were compiled by his wife from her own verbatim shorthand notes of his talks.
Michael Card is an award-winning singer, songwriter, author and teacher. With over 20 albums to his credit, 19 #1 songs, and 14+ books, he is uniquely gifted and qualified to narrate My Utmost for His Highest. His nuanced and thoughtful reading of this timeless classic provide a magnificent opportunity for those regardless of their familiarity of Oswald Chambers.

Today, I finished listening to Oswald Chambers's My Utmost for His Highest audiobook for the first time. This production is 13 hours and 51 minutes of precious treasure. God willing, I will listen time and time again.
So glad to see more of the Christian Classics coming to audio... "whatever is good, noble, pure.... think on these things." I find I am really enjoying having access to the great thinkers of the faith at my fingertips.
If you want to go deeper with the Lord, this is a definite must as part of your daily devotional. Highly recommend it. God Bless You!
If you are yearning to expand your mind and heart to the point of beginning to think like Christ and love like Christ; then I would highly recommend this book.
Oswald Chambers was definitely a Man of God. You can tell that he immersed his entire being into learning how Jesus truly wants us to live our lives here on Earth in order to bring more of our fellow brothers and sisters to become disciples for Him in order to extend the Kingdom of God. We must first become a true disciple ourselves in order to properly guide others.
I listened to this entire book in about a week's time and continue to play it during breakfast and randomly throughout the day so that Oswald's teachings begin to become 2nd nature to me when interacting with others.
The Bible is still the #1 book we must always focus our lives around, but this is currently my #2 book and I do not foresee anything in the near future taking it's place as these writings are close to 100 years old now...
God Bless whomever chooses to purchase this book and read or listen to it all the way through. It will definitely help you walk in the light as Jesus walked in the light.
Michael Card's narration is perfectly paced. This devotional has been important to millions of people and Mr Card's thoughtful and conversational tones invite the listener to reflect on and to enjoy Oswald Chamber's important book. I love Mr Reimanns updated language and for me it pairs perfectly with the narration. This audio will become my new well worn copy of "My Utmost for His Highest".
Very good translation of a classic devotional. The contemporary updated revision is helpful to the listener.
Michael Card's recording enhances the devotional.
Nothing is wrong with the book or the reader. The only issue is how the book is divided in Audible. This is a daily devotional, but multiple days are contained in one chapter. It would be much better if they went a chapter a day. It would mean 365 chapters, but it would make it much easier to listen to a particular day's devotion.
I love the book, but not the execution of the book within Audible.
