    Story
"Consciousness, Reality, Why are we here"

Open-minded skeptics will find this informative.

Elisa Medhus stated at the beginning of this book that after her son's death she read and researched books about the afterlife.

She specifically mentioned Tom Campbell's work, which I also find useful. (He is the author of the My Big TOE trilogy and has over 200 youtube videos to learn from)

The format of the book seems to be in chapters that are on a particular topic to do with what happens after death, or some aspect of reality beyond what most people are familiar with.

Within the chapters are transcripts of basically three people: the author, a "translator" (a medium who can see and converse with her son) and her son.

The questions the author brings to the many sessions are very good questions. Some of the follow up questions are perfect. I've read books to do with Consciousness and the construct of reality, why we are here, past lives, reincarnation, near death experiences, out of body travel to the astral and beyond, and some physics or science books related to these subjects, and have had some of these same questions. I'm so glad to have found this book and get quite a few questions answered.

The last portion of the book answered some pretty important questions people often have - such as what about animals, plants, rocks - do they have consciousness or souls - what about God? - what about Jesus? - what about other famous enlightened people - Budda? Gandhi? others? what about angels - more really interesting information about animals (like our pets who can be with us through various lives and even multiple times in one lifetime) and also about those that endure suffering - and what about suffering people? what about these physics theories? what about telepathy? or that tunnel? or what about people who believe this or that or nothing at all?

Sometimes the chattiness of the transcribed conversations did get a tad annoying, but it was a whole lot better than stuffy science wording. So, unless the target audience is conservative scientists who need to open up their limiting belief systems, the book is just fine. The foul language didn't upset me and was simply true to the transcripts.

Mentioned at least twice in this book was the 3-dimensional net like system on the "other side" with interesting comments about that.

    Excellent and informative.

    "Great story, irritating delivery!"
Would you try another book from Elisa Medhus and/or Hillary Huber?

Only if someone at Audible helped them translate it for audio. They really need help!

Who was your favorite character and why?

    Eric!

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The story was so good, but the narration of each part drove us insane! They read every part and it was so tedious to listen to. Me: Yeah, I thought so. Eric: Well mom, you know. Me: Yes, I know. CRAZY!

Was My Son and the Afterlife worth the listening time?

The story was great, but I could never listen to it again, which is so sad because there's a lot to tell, but it was completely botched the way it was told.

    Any additional comments?

I wish Elisa would write another book and write it from Eric's standpoint without all the conversation. I understood WHY she did it, but it could be just as colorful without all the irritants!

"Amazing Story, well worth the listen!!!"
Where does My Son and the Afterlife rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Very well. Great story great words of wisdom

What did you like best about this story?

All of the Ah'has I received and the resonance with what was being shared

Which character – as performed by Hillary Huber – was your favorite?

    All... the trio is awesome

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Several. I will listen again and bookmark tons! Also, love that the objective of Erik and his mom is to guide souls to ease of suffering. So many humans suffer. Its nice there are souls that want to help ease the pain of the masses if they so desire!

    Any additional comments?

Can't imagine anyone not enjoying this book.

    "Wonderfully Positive Message"

This book provides a strong, encouraging and positive message for anyone grieving the loss of a loved one. It also relates powerful insight into life after life. The prevailing message is how suicide impacts a soul's development. All of which are very good reasons to give this audio book a listen.

    "Inner Peace, Enlightenment and Excitement!"
Would you listen to My Son and the Afterlife again? Why?

Yes, because there was a great deal of enlightening information in it. I have watched many of Erik's videos, read a great deal of blog information on his site "Channeling Erik", and listened to a great deal of the audio archives that include recordings of Erik helping people all around the world that call in to ask for help. Jamie and Elisa do a great deal of work while helping use their gifts to help Erik help people in need.

What was one of the most memorable moments of My Son and the Afterlife?

Learning about the afterlife and the answers to many deep questions I have had more many years in my life. Love and Fear being the two root human emotions. More healthy ways to love yourself and others. God loves us unconditionally and non judgmentally. There is other life forms out there that are more intelligent than us and are waiting for us to raise our levels of consciousness before they make their presence known (You Tube video with Erik). They don't want a relationship based by fear.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I loved listening to stories of how Erik was while in the human form. Erik had a special relationship with his mother that was similar to my mother and I. I appreciate hearing stories of him joking and having fun with his mom. Most of all, I appreciate Elisa making contact and staying in contact with him in the Afterlife.

    Any additional comments?

First of all I'd like to say that I was accidentally on purpose guided to a You Tube channel with Eric talking with Jamie and his mother Alisa Medhus. I was reading "Conversations with God", and God mentioned looking for a book which talked about a mother looking for answers to her son's death (suicide) and the afterlife. I don't recall what the book was called, but the subject pulled me in.

While searching for the book, I came across Erik,Jaime, and Elisa on YouTube. Once I started, I couldn't stop. The dialogue between Eric and his mother through Jamie was intoxicating. Not only did Erik answer a lot of questions that I had to ask about the after life and the meaning of life etc, he also complimented the book "Conversations with God" without even mentioning it. So it was a perfect compliment in my opinion. It really open my eyes on a much deeper level of thinking and in a much simpler way of looking at life.

This experience has helped relieve a lot of stress off of my shoulders due to the fact that I don't have to worry about a judgmental God that is going to throw me in Hell because I indulge in one or more of the pleasures in life. I have always known in my gut, that religion has been manipulated by man to scare and control us. I have been on a journey to seek the truth. This year, through a series of books like this one, Conversations with God, The Fifth Agreement and many documentaries along with YouTube videos....I have finally found the truth!

Since my experience on YouTube with Erik, he has come to me and my wife in various different ways. One of the times I was at a friends house talking about him and I'm 99 percent sure it was him in the room somehow revealing himself to the cat. My friend's cat was totally into a portion of the couch and I've never seen a cat act like that before. My friend knows his cat really well and stated that he's never seen his cat act like that before so we accepted the fact that there was probably a spirit there and it was probably was Erik. So we went with it and so did the cat twice. He has come to me at work and while smoking. I can feel his presence and he identifies himself with a really cool blue smoke. He makes it dance while also defying the wind patterns outside.

I would say that the biggest thing besides learning that our God is a non judgmental God, life after death, and being able to communicate with spirits that want to communicate with you/help you ..... I'd say is the concept of learning that there are two basic human emotions. These are Love and Fear. I try to ask myself if this emotion based by love or fear. If it is fear, I have to let it go. I have no room for it in my consciousness. Everyone in this world and universe deserves unconditional love. If we all focus on love the world will become a much better place.

BTW: My wife and I have a reading scheduled with Jaime and look forward to listening to Erik again.

Thank you for all your hard work Elisa, Jaime and Erik. You guys are paving the way for inner peace and love!

"The foul language is really annoying..."
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

    well... yeah, just barely.

    Any additional comments?

I believed the content is not fiction, and I believe the story is true and the intention of the book is really good. I can see the life between life realm described here is somewhat believable. However, I have to be very honest that this book is not very well written. The 2 star I gave here is for the book's intention. The deceased teenage Eric 's very foul language is just not received well by me at all. The kind of teenage attitude and seemingly lighthearted tone might be very endear and familiar to his mother , but to the reader , it seems very shallow and distasteful at times. I really feel because of the juvenile attitude, it actually discredit the book content's precious message quite bit. As reader and strongly believed in afterlife and spiritual realm, I had hard time with his way of talking and describing the afterlife even I do believe it. On the other hand, the conversation between the mother and son is somewhat repetitive and boring. Some question from the mother is really the roll your eye kinds of question, such as : do you have bus driver or plumber job on the other side... similar kind of questions asked repetitively ...

Reading this book was like being with a loved one. And, the journey of reading the book ended all too quickly. I found myself resonating with the content brought to life by Dr. Medhus through her son.

"I gave up listening. Read the book"

I have watched many of Erik's YouTube videos and read the blog, both which are amazing and fascinating. Erik has even pranked me a couple of times. I've been looking forward to the book. But I found listening to the narrator switch back and forth between characters by saying "me" and "Erik" constantly to be very irritating. It would have been much easier to listen to it if there was simply a difference in the narrator's voice or by using a male and a female reader. That being said the reader she had a nice voice though the narration was pretty slow. Too bad because the story would appeal to many.
