Why Some Prayers Work, Why Some Don't, and How You and God Can Change Things for Good
How would it feel to enter into prayer with confidence and assurance - certain that God heard you and that your prayers would make a difference? It would likely feel amazing and unfamiliar. That's because often our prayers seem to be met with silence or don't appear to change anything. Either response can lead to disappointment or even despair in the face of our ongoing battles and unmet longings - especially when we don't know if we're doing something wrong or if some prayers just don't work. New York Times best-selling author John Eldredge confronts these issues directly in Moving Mountains by offering a hopeful approach to prayer that is effective, relational, and rarely experienced by most Christians.
In a world filled with danger, adventure, and wonder, we have at our disposal prayers that can transform the events and issues that matter most to us and to God. Moving Mountains shows you how to experience the power of daily prayer, learn the major types of prayers - including those of intervention, consecration, warfare, and healing - and to discover the intimacy of the cry of the heart prayer, listening prayer, and praying scripture. Things can be different, and you personally have a role to play with God in bringing about that change through prayer. It may sound too good to be true, but this is your invitation to engage in the kind of prayers that can move God's heart as well as the mountains before you.

By far his best book yet on the life of being a Christian and maturing in Christ. Looking for more and a better understanding in your walk with Jesus? Then this is a must read. As always John captures the readers heart and reveals the wonderfully good heart of God in a profound and beatiful way.
listened through it twice so far. going to go back for round 3 soon. it's amazing when you accidently find what you needed right when you needed it most.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. After his first book on prayer, Walking with God, I was hooked with John's way of writing, his storytelling, and his passion for Christ. Moving Mountains picks up where the other book left off and takes you to a new place. Enjoy and get closer to God!
Today's bible verse from my reading. ;). Discipline is freedom. Discipline is happiness.
Proverbs 10 17People who accept discipline are on the pathway to life,
but those who ignore correction will go astray.
this is a very good read. However I felt some of the material wasn't presented in a way that I could logically understand it. Sometimes I felt like he was saying do this but first. well why not just tell us the but first, first? overall grade book
"well written and thought provoking"
good, solid practical advice. some real eureka moments and many answered questions. need to reread a few times to get all the info to settle.
