    "Dreadful"
What would have made Mahamudra for the Modern World better?

    A less monotone dreary narrator

Would you ever listen to anything by Reginald A. Ray again?

    No

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of the narrator?

    Anyone

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Extreme disappointment and concern for others

    Any additional comments?

On the spiritual path a little inspiration is needed. I'm concerned for someone who might be depressed or someone looking for inspiration and joy. This guy has the nerve to talk about narcissism while talking for 6 hours and never sharing the many writings on the Mahamudra from historic teachers. Its just nonstop monotone deeply uninspiring dribble. Frightfully dull. And I have to say I am not the type of person who writes a review on anything. But this was a crime on so many levels. Realizing that most things in life are subjective, I can't imagine how this could help anyones practice.

Mahamudra in the the modern world is a great complement to the books Mahamudra - the moonlight - Quintessence of Mind and Meditation and Tanta the Supreme Understanding - The song of Mahamudra. And also the book Meditation in Action. These books and this program give you the full range of the Value, Intention, and Potential of Mahamudra and brings it into the consciousness of the world in You.

"A series of meditation with instruction"

Here the author give us a complete background on the teachings contained within the book as well as the origins of this type of meditation. If you wanted to do them all in a row it will take you a few days to accomplish them. If you want to do them for the betterment of yourself then do them in groups, but not while driving. The same is true regarding doing these meditation for the benefit of others.

I found these meditations very beneficial in my spiritual growth and my growth in this world. I find them very in-depth and very peaceful once you do them. They also helped me reach some deep seated issues and deal with them. I recommend these meditations to anyone who wants to dig deeper into themselves and find more peace as a result. I would like to see all these meditations broken down and labeled, so they can be replayed later for guided meditations later as needed.

This is a very powerful and profound meditation program. I have been meditating for about 20 years on my own without instruction. After attending a week of Dathun at the Shambhala Mt Center but knowing very little about Buddhism, I decided that I wanted more meditation instruction.

Mahamudra feels very esoteric to me, I love connecting to the universe through these meditations. This program is 37 hours long. The first couple of hours of the audio is Reggie talking about Mahamudra, and then he begins teaching meditation. There are many guided meditations throughout. I have been listening when possible to his talks during my daily walk or while I'm driving. When it comes time to do a meditation, I find an hour or so of quiet time at home and dedicate myself fully to it. I constantly look forward to practicing what I have learned.

I would whole-heartedly recommend this to someone who is interested in deepening their meditation practice, and is looking for a program that they want to do on their own time. Thanks Reggie Ray! I will definitely come to your mountain retreat someday!

    "Poor Description on Audible"
Is there anything you would change about this book?

I mainly listen to audible on long trips or at work. The Audible description was unclear that this is a book on guided meditation which isn't really possible for me to do in the car or at work.

What did you like best about this story?

I like the story and the practice and will keep this book on hand to use at a later date

Did the narrator do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

    N/A

Did Mahamudra for the Modern World inspire you to do anything?

    No

    "Life Changing!!"

Great lectures and practices. This is an amazing gift to humanity since the practices are very accessible. Beginning meditators can easily follow the directions and as the course progresses feel the difference in awareness and way of thinking... Can't recommend it enough!!

    "Narrator mumbles and goes soft"
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

If you want to have your own retreat at a quiet place

Would you be willing to try another book from Reginald A. Ray? Why or why not?

If the narrator is another person. I have discovered for audio books, though i previously loved author narrated, you would focus more if the narrator is a professional.

How could the performance have been better?

Should not mumble under his breath
