Millions of people have thrilled to best-selling authors Bill O'Reilly and historian Martin Dugard's Killing Kennedy and Killing Lincoln, works of nonfiction that have changed the way we view history. Now the anchor of The O'Reilly Factor details the events leading up to the murder of the most influential man in history: Jesus of Nazareth. Nearly 2,000 years after this beloved and controversial young revolutionary was brutally killed by Roman soldiers, more than 2.2 billion human beings attempt to follow his teachings and believe he is God. You NEED this book

Would you consider the audio edition of Killing Jesus to be better than the print version?

I've never read the print version of this book but i cant imagine having it read any other way. The story is written in a narrative that really sets the scene for what was going on at the time of Jesus. Its super awesome that the book is narrated by the author. It makes it some how more personal that way

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

This was definitely a book that i wanted to read in one sitting (and tried!) Its such a fascinating subject and if you've read the gospels it makes it even more fascinating.

Any additional comments?

Read it! If you want to learn more about the history surrounding Jesus' life then you need this book. Even if you don't believe in Jesus it gives you more appreciation for what he was teaching and how radical it was for him to say what he did.

A Well-Taught History Lesson for Non Christians

Dugard and O'Reilly present a detailed and entertaining history of the people and circumstances surrounding the life of Jesus of Nazareth. It lifts Jesus above the veil of mysticism and presents him as a real person who was born at a certain time and place, who lived a life that affected all who knew him, and who did not need cheap magic tricks to astound the entire world then and ever after.

O'Reilly reads his own book as he heads his own news show script. The writing style was more instructive than descriptive which flattened the tone of the horrific brutality of the age; however, it flattened the beauty and emotion as well.

Killing Jesus was a welcomed relief from Eileen Pagels and her fellow cultural revisionists who take texts that were written 300 years after Jesus' death in preference to those written 30 years afterwards and who disregard 2000 years of hermeneutic research and preservation in preference for their own opinion on what ancients texts actually say.

As a parting thought to Dugard & O'Reilly, I suggest a subtitle for Killing Jesus: An Inconvenient Truth.

Very Interesting

What did you love best about Killing Jesus?

I loved the historical perspective that was more in chronological order and was woven together with other pertinent history at the time of the life of Jesus. This book is for Christians and non-Christians both and will give the reader/listener a perspective not available in the bible or gospels.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I most enjoyed the thourough account of politics of the Roman Empire at the time of Jesus' life and how that had an affect of the events in Judea.

Have you listened to any of Bill O'Reilly’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the second book Ive listened to from this author and was far more serious in nature. Difficult to compare "Bold/Fresh" to this book.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I had a hard time finding a stopping point!

Any additional comments?

Some parts are quite graphic in nature and were difficult to listen to without an emotional response. But, I think this was an accurate account of how how the Romans treated those who were convicted and punished for all sorts of crimes; both large and insignificant.
