Love how this book is written in first person. Jesus gives me direction each day. Then the Bible verses of where the "advise" comes from. The book has inspired me to begin a daily journal in which I write a letter back to Jesus about the daily direction he has for me and the verses. As a follow up, a group of friends and I send each other a short summary from the daily devotional like..."It's hard to fall down when you are holding hands with Jesus!˝ It's so encouraging. You should try it!
This devotional book is absolutely wonderful--a daily meditation accompanied by several Bible verses to connect the devotional. How disappointed I was that the audio devotional does not include the reading of the scripture verses. I try to read "Jesus Calling" every morning while I sit at my makeup table. Especially days that I work or have early morning commitments, I hoped to be able to listen to the narrated meditation INCLUDING the scripture verses. I guess it is more important for me to read and meditate instead.
I never knew how much I was dwelled into myself. I kept complaining about how empty and sad I felt . I felt horrible witnessing sinful and corrupted acts in the world. I've grown weary and tired I told my Father. I told him I hate seeing this happening to the world. I couldn't find happiness in anything I used to love. I was in self-pity. This story encouraged me to trust in my Father . To trust that my footsteps will be lighter when he is at my side. Though life can distract or pull me down, God was always there to lift me up. I became aware of his existence and how much peace I have by having my Lord as my daily companion. He is more than I want in a friend or a boyfriend. I don't any different companion to hear me talk about anything . Because I know he would love to hear anything I have to say. His time was always for me . My trust soothes his ache and pain of the world. He became my everything. Everything I can't live without. Everyday I yearn for this oxygen that kept me breathing . Sustaining happiness and serenity that kept encouraging to keep living for Him. " When Christ is the reason to live, there is no reason to give up." I learned so much more about Him. Bless Sara Young for sharing this magnificent story. Thank you God for sending me these amazing messages you wanted me to hear. I trust in you Jesus. Never let me be separated from you.
Yes. This is an excellent book for clarity and revelation, so if you get it be prepared to feel that power.
Um Jesus was my favorite character...so...
I liked the month of January the best.
I tried to, but I had to break it up into parts. Its great to listen to as you wind down in the evening.
I am a writer, a reader and a person that loves dramatical movies and good TV. I am a passionate Christian who loves coffee and Facebook
This is touching. Every message touches your heart. Even listening or reading this book out of order touches you.
I how this book in written form but listen to it in the audio form brought it to life for me. Felt like it was God speaking to me personally. One of the grandkids asked me Nana is that God talking! Truly enjoyed it
I happen to like audio because I like to play it when I am doing other things. I like both printed and audio.
through out the devotional it takes Gods word as if Jesus is speaking it directly too you. It makes Gods word so much more personal like you can just put yourself right in it.
Several stories through out were impacting
I listen to it frequently but because it is s daily devotional it is really long so I listen to it when I can but not all in one sitting.
This is such a blessing to have playing in the background - it has deepened my faith
