In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day is inspired by one of the most obscure yet courageous acts recorded in Scripture, a blessed and audacious act that left no regrets: "Benaiah chased a lion down into a pit. Then, despite the snow and slippery ground, he caught the lion and killed it" (2 Samuel 23:20 -21). Unleash the lion chaser within!

This book is a great book if you think balance is over rated. It has given me the faith to do things that I would have blown off as extreme. To give an encouraging word to someone I don't know. It's a great book for comfortable people who are tried of being comfortable.
A must read/listen book for anyone passionate about God. It served as a great encouragement to me and released me from fears of the unknown.
Take a moment and pray for what God is about to reveal to you in this "little" book.
The mind switch in how we look at our challenges and our willingness to embrace what is messy as an opportunity to glorify God is presented in a manner of hope.
I will never look at a challenge in the same way.
if the author has a fault it is in saying the same thing 3 different ways to drive his point home.
I find myself deciding to chase lions in my own life. Now I'm off to see where the chase may lead.
Mark Batterson went with a less "popular" bible story to convey a powerful message of chasing God-Sized Dreams.
In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day and Wild at Heart is a must read for all Christian Men.

I love this book! It reminded me of all my big dreams; and the times when people (even the ones that love me) discouraged me from doing the BIG and GREAT things and to settle for the doable and good things...Against loving advice I left the comfortable and good...this book encourages me to not just chase the lion but to full on jump in the pit, mo holds bar! Sword in hand God in heart! Dreams here I come, World look out! Sonya
