"A fancy piece of historical sleuthing...intriguing and entertaining and sturdy enough to give a long pause of thought." (Kirkus Review)
The time was well spent as it piqued my interest in the full print version of the work.
Chariots of the Gods due to similar content
I did not observe any detraction owing to the narrator
I am inspired to acquire and read the full edition of the book
The abridged edition was too short and I found the continuity of the story suffered. I could not follow a line through the presentation. I found the subject matter fascinating and the narration good from a storytelling perspective; however, as stated, the abridged content rendered the whole experience less effective than it might otherwise have been were it unabridged.
I encourage you to get this version even though it is a crime to try and abridge this work. It is still pleasant to listen to and though the jumping around can be a bit jarring it will give you a good overview of the very large work it represents. If you find yourself interested then I encourage you to get the real book for a thorough read. It is engaging and well footnoted and can be found very cheaply since it is an older work. If you can I would try to find the most recent version from around 2001. The authors text remains the same but he has changed many appendixes and footnotes to better represent current research and info.
Graham's research is correct, his information is very interesting, and it adds tremendously to the knowledge of mankind's history. The story was presented well.
I don't have time to read. Peter presented the material in an interesting way, and it was very easy to listen to.
Yes, I did.
People get ready..
I read the book a few years ago and really liked it. For me, there is something about hearing it that makes it that much better. The research makes this story so unique.
He did ok but I prefer the authors own voice.
History is about to repeat itself again.
Great audio book even though at times it can get a little dull. If they would of used the authors voice it would of been different. Critical thinkers will love it!
Stars used as a clock? Making man kind smart 15,000 years ago, go on sir I think you have something there. The best part of this book is that no where does aliens appear making ideas that could seem outrageous more legitimate when similar ideas are plagiarized from fingerprints of the gods.
I really enjoyed this book. I have listened twice so far. There is allot of info in there. It puts forth some interesting therories and gets you thinking.
Wow amazing correlations from all over the world in many different cultures. This book will make you question everything you think you know and make you realise how much you don't know...
Mr. Hancock presents a different view of the human story which should be given more scientific research. The followup he's currently working on should be fascinating.
