Those who seek God through fasting can expect tremendous rewards both for their personal lives and the church. They will see breakthroughs in many areas, such as healing, finances, bondages broken, and children set free.
Jesus Himself fasted because He knew some supernatural realities could not be released in any other way. For that reason alone, Christians should make fasting a common practice.

As a 46 year old that’s been a believer since age 17, my life changed again in 2001 when I decided to actually READ the Bible. I began a 1 year plan to read the whole Bible. That changed my life and I decided to do that for the rest of my life. My life is good, I am blessed beyond my understanding. However, in seeking to know the Creator more, and looking for new breakthroughs in my life, a friend recommended this book. I have never been a good “faster”. I like to say I’m slow at fasting. :) While listening to this book, the Lord touched me, the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart and I knew this is the new thing I need to make part of my life. I haven’t even begun my fast, yet the Lord has already started blessing me in new ways. I highly recommend this book if you seek breakthrough in your life. “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.”
I have never, never heard fasting described as I've heard here. In plain English, Pastor Franklin explains what fasting is, why it is necessary and how to do it- with options! And the testimonials of those who got in the will of God on the fast! I am sincerely thankful for this work of love.
I took upon myself to listen to this book one morning and the inspiration from book led me into a 24 hour water only fast. An amazing listen, I did not even know who this man was before listening to this book but have discovered to new favorite author. I am not working on more of his stuff, the narrator is good and the content is EXCELLENT. I am recommending this book to everyone I know. I have listened to this book, portions of it three times. 6 STars aren't enough.
Well done good and faithful Servant. Your fasting is demonstrative in your writing.
I HAD NEVER TOUGHT FASTING WAS SO IMPORTANT IN YOUR WALK FOR SALVATIION!
NO FAVORITE. LOVED THE WHOLE BOOK
This is a very easy book to listen to. He repeats some things so you can have those moments where you can tune out for just a bit and come back in without missing a beat and giving your mind a rest.
The author is very informative about his personal use of fasting, as in how it feels, things you might want to avoid while fasting and various fasts you can do.
I'm a skeptical person and don't really pay attention to the other accounts he gave from other people but others might find those useful as well.
Discipline broadens your mind and opens your spirit to see more of what was intended for us.
Easy listen, informative, I took away a lot from this book. I have also read his workbook that is a great addition to this one. I think it's called Fasting Journal it is a physical book not audio as far as I know.
Great Among the best ever
Brings out current revelation on fasting from the Bible
Prefer Jentzen to read
I liked the scripture references. The overall stories were interesting and inspiring. The narrator's voice was a good choice for this book. Easy to understand and good voice inflections.
"Very good Christian book"
This book explores the spiritual aspects of fasting for Christians and defines why fasting should be part of the life of the Christian.
There is a lot of practical advice on how to go about it and what to expect from it. There is a good deal of exposition of scriptures showing how fasting was used by many more Bible heroes than we might at first call to mind. It is a thoroughly Bible-based introduction to fasting suitable for a wide range of Christians of most denominations.
Right now fasting for dietary purposes has become very popular with things like the Intermediate Fasting diet. This book underlines how fasting for spiritual purposes differs from purely dietary fasting, although the two do not necessarily contradict each other. A fast is like an "all day prayer" as Jentezen puts it, and greatly serves to focus the mind on God and increase our intimacy with God. This gives us access to far greater blessings than just a dietary fast.
This is a book of discipleship, aimed at those who are Christians. It has nothing in it which would offend others who fast, but is written to readers on the assumption that they are already committed Christians. The author also makes it clear that fasting in no way defines whether or not a person is saved. This is a way of increasing blessing and intimacy with God and a more powerful prayer life for a person already saved by believing in Jesus.
