    "More Cayce!"
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would recommend the book, but not this audio. There is a very distinct difference between reading a book aloud and narrating. Ms. Hogue was very disconnected from her material.

What didn’t you like about Dawn Hogue’s performance?

There was no "performance"- she seemed to just be reading the book for the first time.

    Any additional comments?

Edgar Cayce's work is wondrous and I hope Audible seeks more of his material...hopefully with talented narrators.

    "Interesting, but........"

The first part of this book is very interesting, giving accounts of people who have had Angel encounters, which I love to read about... But the rest of it, probably 2/3rd of the book, is about Edgar Cayce's life, whom I find fascinating, but the problem is, it's really just a recap of the book "There is a River. The Story of Edgar Cayce"... If you've read, or listened to "There is a River", then you've already heard most of what's in this book..

If I had never listened to the other book, I would have given this book 5 stars.. The book "There is a River" is written by Thomas Sugrue and this book is written by Robert Grant. Thomas Sugrue wrote his book in 1942 and Robert Grant wrote this book in 2005. I guess I'm confused that this book has so much information taken from Thomas Sugrue's book.

"Great book overall, a few glitches in the audio"

Don't let the beginning of the title distract you from the end. The book definitely covers more than just angels, though definitely a lot about them as well.

I tend to do more reading of books than listening to audios, but I find trying to read Edgar Cayce's readings a bit tough, much like reading old English or old KJV. It's much easier listening to someone else read, putting in the correct pauses and such. It makes understanding them much easier, IMO.

I particularly liked the way this book cleared up some questions I had on Edgar Cayce's interpretation of the Bible, angels, energy forces, and creation. The author's view and description of the angels and unseen forces, and they way they interact with and around us, was very enlightening and easy to understand.

The only problem I had with the book was that in many places (I'd guess at least a dozen) the same sentence was played twice. The errors are only slightly distracting and really don't diminish the story, but it was so often that I could not rate this as five stars.

    "Recording VERY unprofessional"
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

The book yes, but I would only recommend this audio book if the download was free. The narrator was a total amateur, repeating sentences two or even three times consistently throughout, making mistakes, etc. It was clear that no editing was done on the audio whatsoever. Got really annoying after the FIRST chapter.

Would you be willing to try another one of Dawn Hogue’s performances?

No! This is the poorest quality reading I have ever had on an audiobook!

    Any additional comments?

This is a great book, especially if you are already familiar with Edgar Cayce's work, but maybe just read the hard copy...

    "Very Good"
Would you listen to Edgar Cayce on Angels, Archangels and the Unseen Forces again? Why?

No, I remember it the first time around.

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

The fact that it was based on possibly the most proven psychic in human history.

What does Dawn Hogue bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

    Great presentation and build up.

    Any additional comments?

I recommend this book to anyone wanting to know about Edgar Casey or the unseen world. Keep in mind that there is a decent amount of material in this book that is the authors assessment of ancient writings and not factual accounts. Form your own thoughts on the factual information provided, but be intelligent enough not to form a belief construct on any external information, even if it comes from Edgar Casey.

    "This was not Edited"
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The book was fine...the lack of editing was annoying.

    Any additional comments?

It was not edited. The narrator was great except that at times she would repeat a sentence and the first sentence was not edited out. I've never seen this problem before on all the books I've listened to.

    "Why Dawn Hogue? Poor Choice"
Where does Edgar Cayce on Angels, Archangels and the Unseen Forces rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

As far as the performance of the narrator I give it the worst score possible. Dawn Hogue not only recorded this audio-book without the aid of a properly made sound box so you hear digital ghosting noises throughout the read, but she did ZERO editing to clean it up. She is so detached to the material that she rereads the same line countless times. And when she messes up she leaves that in the recording! This is a travesty, because the source material suffers from her lax performance. And the source material deserved much better.

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

There was nothing compelling about Dawn Hogue's uninspired reading of this book. She treated this like a job, and with the same enthusiasm modern bank-tellers have when they hand you money, and the bills aren't all facing the same way. This was sloppy. This performance was entirely unprofessional.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

If not for the source material and interesting topic, I would have demanded the real audio book, convinced this was some kind of stupid joke being played on the consumer. The desire to learn about Edgar Cayce is the only aspect that kept me enduring the god-awful reading.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It was a book any intelligent professional upon hearing, would not be able to listen to all in one sitting without being appalled by the narrator's treatment of the source material. Yes, I would have loved to listen all in one shot, but my tendency to uphold standards, and take pride in my work, would not make that possible. This read was an insult to Edgar Cayce and his devotees and to anyone who accepts the concept that your work is a direct reflection of yourself.

    Any additional comments?

Please REDO the Dawn Hogue Reading with someone more qualified to do the source material justice.
