Publisher's Summary

Death by Love is a unique audio experience on the cross of Jesus Christ. Read in the form of pastoral letters, Death by Love outlines the 12 primary effects of Jesus' death on the cross and connects each to the life of a different individual. Driscoll, one of America's most influential pastors and narrator of Death by Love, and Breshears, a respected theologian, help listeners understand, appreciate, and trust in Jesus' work on the cross in a way that will transform their lives.

Both deeply theological and intensely practical, this unabridged audiobook explains how everyone can find hope through the death of Jesus Christ.

Love historical fiction, good light reading, histories, and theological treatises.

"Personal and theological at the same time"

I thought this would be a treatise on the cross, a full book on the theological implications of the cross on life in general, or on humanity. Instead, it is a series of letters from Mark Driscoll, written in the tone and spirit of those written by Paul, Peter, Luke, etc., in the New Testament, to people he has either counseled or knew personally. They are enlightening, especially as you are bound at some point to hear a letter that you very well yourself could receive. Those which you might not have received yourself are illuminating in the sense that they give you a good idea of the tone of mind to take with other people, and their sins. Very Christ-centered, and an excellent device by which to display the different elements of the cross and redemption. Well done, MD!

"Great deep meaty content, but boring & I love MD!"

Really theologically deep book, with a very good format of 12 letters exploring various issues of sin for people. I thought that as Driscolls such a great preacher, his reading style would also hold up, but sadly it's pretty tough going. I had to rewind a lot as I struggled to pay attention. Still the content is great for looking deep into how Jesus death and resurrection can restore even the most broken of lives. I may get the book later just to go back over it properly - but the audiobook was pretty dry with Mark's reading style - just to monotonous for a whole book. Sorry Mark.
