Publisher's summary

Escape the enemy's deadly trap! The Bait of Satan exposes one of the most deceptive snares Satan uses to get believers out of the will of God - offense. Most people who are ensnared by the bait of Satan don’t even realize it. Don’t be fooled! You will encounter offense, and it’s up to you how it will affect your relationship with God. Your response will determine your future. If offense is handled correctly, you will become stronger rather than bitter. In this tenth anniversary edition of his best-selling book, John Bevere shows you how to stay free from offense and escape the victim mentality. With more than 400,000 copies in print, this audio book includes testimonials of transformed people who have read the original book and a devotional supplement, featuring discussion questions, scriptures, and prayers. You will find answers to tough questions like these: Why am I compelled to tell “my side” of the story? How can I fight thoughts of suspicion or distrust? What can I do to stop rehearsing past hurts? How can I regain trust after someone deeply offends me? This audio book will help you escape the enemy’s “offensive trap” as well as empower you to stay free of offense, enabling you to have an unhindered relationship with God.

A Topic We All Need to Listen to and Understand

What was one of the most memorable moments of Bait of Satan?

This book tells about a very important doctrine from God's Holy Word and explains how God expects us to deal with offenses when they happen. John Bevere uses stories from his own life and from the Bible to illustrate the points of this doctrine so that we can understand how choices we make when we become offended can affect ourselves and others.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Some parts of this book are difficult to listen to and will evoke emotions that the listener will need to deal with after listening. I don't recommend listening in one sitting. I think it's best to take this book in pieces and deal with the emotions a little at a time.

Freedom

A big part of our freedom in Christ is letting go of offense. It isn’t easy to start this book when you’re feeling hurt, but it’s worth it to get to the end. God works at His pace and does what He knows is right for you! God wins!

My GOD My GOD!!!

This was an amazing journey that I didn’t even realize I needed to go on. I was struggling with un forgiveness of my husband through a difficult time in our marriage. I then realized that not only was I in the trap of offenses with him, I held it with many people. This was a blessing to my life and I’ve already shared it with several people who I believe will be blessed by this book.

FORGIVENESS

- started reading it, was struck with conviction - abandoned it - came back to it and got to the part where I thought I understood the big idea - but kept re-reading chapter 8 over and over knowing I was in the midst of being SHAKEN - it was tough for me to read because I wanted to fully understand the concepts/wisdom from the Bible teachings. After reading it all the way through I know I have a lot of praying and reconciling to do. I am ready to embark on a new journey - but first, before I go I must reconcile relationships, and then I can truly offer myself as a sacrifice to honor and glorify God.
I am so thankful for these interpreted Words from God, it is a true awakening message!

Swerving from the path He has planned for us, we face the tumultuous way which the enemy has beautifully wrapped - full of enticements that satisfies the ego. After which, we take off as a rocket for destination destruction and death. - Severed from God's graces He had intended for us to merit from.

Introspective

I love that this was read by the author. The book is hard hitting in that you must look deep inside yourself to see what you have allowed to alter your life. It was a great listen, albeit hard when your own faults are presented in the mirror. I highly recommend.

Keep coming back!

This book is a book that I listen to over and over. I keep coming back to it for reminders as to how to fight the evil of offense. Just when I think I got it, someone steps right in my path with "the bate". The good news is I've learned to recognize"the bate" and now have tools that help me fight the good fight!
