Publisher's summary

Escape the enemy's deadly trap! The Bait of Satan exposes one of the most deceptive snares Satan uses to get believers out of the will of God - offense. Most people who are ensnared by the bait of Satan don’t even realize it. Don’t be fooled! You will encounter offense, and it’s up to you how it will affect your relationship with God. Your response will determine your future. If offense is handled correctly, you will become stronger rather than bitter. In this tenth anniversary edition of his best-selling book, John Bevere shows you how to stay free from offense and escape the victim mentality. With more than 400,000 copies in print, this audio book includes testimonials of transformed people who have read the original book and a devotional supplement, featuring discussion questions, scriptures, and prayers. You will find answers to tough questions like these: Why am I compelled to tell “my side” of the story? How can I fight thoughts of suspicion or distrust? What can I do to stop rehearsing past hurts? How can I regain trust after someone deeply offends me? This audio book will help you escape the enemy’s “offensive trap” as well as empower you to stay free of offense, enabling you to have an unhindered relationship with God.

Forgiveness is the KEY

This book was referred to me by a friend. Actually she said to be sure to get the hard copy because the book is so full of scripture you will want to look everything up the second go around.

Yea yea-- All I seem to have time for now a days is to listen. Get it!!!!!!!!!! There is so much information on forgiveness in this book. I struggle with forgiveness period!!! I guess when I forgave I wasn't truly in my heart letting it go, if I even forgave at all. I harbored grudges and lots of anger towards those that hurt or offended me. This book showed my how NOT to do that any longer. I am now working in the right direction in being able to forgive with an open and loving heart thru God, to truly cast my burdens on Him and FORGIVE and ASK for forgiveness!!! Forgiveness helps us to grow into the people that God really wants us to become. Loving, caring, full of kindness towards others and showing honor to Him.

Any place that you are at in your life, this book will show you so much more of Gods love and understanding. God's hand will be on you as you go thru this book and He will rain down His blessings when you finally receive the true understanding of forgiveness.

Get this book. Take the time to ask God to open your heart and to feel His presence while you are listening and He will guide you. You will see and feel the change.

Excellent book, do yourself a favor and get it.

If you are a Christian struggling in any area of you life, and you are having a hard time putting your finger on the problem (or maybe you know) read/listen to this book. It was a true gift of the Spirit. I listened to the whole of the book while on a long drive and was convicted, edified, taught and blown away! I will be buying a copy to read and reread often.

A Topic We All Need to Listen to and Understand

What was one of the most memorable moments of Bait of Satan?

This book tells about a very important doctrine from God's Holy Word and explains how God expects us to deal with offenses when they happen. John Bevere uses stories from his own life and from the Bible to illustrate the points of this doctrine so that we can understand how choices we make when we become offended can affect ourselves and others.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Some parts of this book are difficult to listen to and will evoke emotions that the listener will need to deal with after listening. I don't recommend listening in one sitting. I think it's best to take this book in pieces and deal with the emotions a little at a time.

Let me tell you how wonderful I am

While the message in this book makes it worth your time, all of the testimonials about how great this book is and how wonderful the author is, is enough to turn anyone away. Let your work speak for itself...anything or anyone that has to tell me how glorious they are makes me realize that they're not at all.

“Me and My Struggles w/ Church Politics”

I was so excited about this book. My youngest struggles with being offended at everything. It’s painful and it drives people away when what she desires most is their affection, attention and love.
This book is a sham. It’s full of self promotion. Indulgent stories of the author’s church-hopping self-righteous plight in his aspirations to become a pastor. Reading it was more painful than dealing with my indignant oft offended daughter.
Every third paragraph seems to be another testimony of how this book saved a marriage or a church from splitting. It’s unbearable. The reader has obviously purchased the book. We don’t need to be sold at every turn. It’s almost as if He realizes it’s garbage and is trying to prove it’s a worthwhile read.
Well, it’s not. I was utterly disappointed. I don’t recommend it to anyone. Trite self-promotion and self-indulgent pulp under the guise of a truly needed subject matter tackled from a Christian perspective. I needed what you were selling, I still do for my daughter’s sake. But it was a bait and switch. Thanks for nothing.
