From New York Times best-selling author and former Muslim Nabeel Qureshi comes this personal, challenging, and respectful answer to the many questions surrounding jihad, the rise of ISIS, and Islamic terrorism.
San Bernardino was the most lethal terror attack on American soil since 9/11, and it came on the heels of a coordinated assault on Paris. There is no question that innocents were slaughtered in the name of Allah and in the way of jihad, but do the terrorists' actions actually reflect the religion of Islam? The answer to this question is more pressing than ever as waves of Muslim refugees arrive in the West, seeking shelter from the violent ideology of ISIS.
Setting aside speculations and competing voices, what really is jihad? How are we to understand jihad in relation to our Muslim neighbors and friends? Why is there such a surge of Islamist terrorism in the world today, and how are we to respond?
In Answering Jihad, best-selling author Nabeel Qureshi (Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus) answers these questions from the perspective of a former Muslim who is deeply concerned for both his Muslim family and his American homeland.

The author provided great balance between history and modern application. I learned several things that will help me to lovingly interact with a population that is expectedly diverse even though they may at first appear to be radically different--at times even dangerous. The author tactfully works through some key concerns.
The book written by Dr. Quereshi is very helpful for a Christian to understand the Islamic faith and the evil of Islamic terrorism. It's not filled with politically charged rhetoric but rather facts from a informed and educated former Muslim who understands being a Muslim, especially in the West. Give this book your time if you want to understand truth of Islam in conjunction with what we see in our world today with the problem radical Islam.
Quereshi presents clear and convincing arguments for why all of us must reevaluate the way we view and behave toward Muslims, and Islam as a whole. This is a much needed voice of love and reason in the volatile cultural climate we find ourselves in today.
One of the best non-fiction books I have read in years
Understanding why Muslims believe Islam is a religion of peace and the radicals see their movement as a reformation back to Islam's roots.
Reader was terrific
The challenge to be a friend to Muslims without compromising your own beliefs.
In this book the author serves to present the real theology, history, and mission of Islam. Based on historical evidence, Islamic texts- of which are mostly available in Arabic but have been translated - the author gives light to events seen in today's headlines and past wars. A must read
Another excellent and informative work by Qureshi. While the author may over-estimate the extent to which his own spiritual experience is archetypal, his humility is endearing and his integrity transparent.
A new option to fear of Muslims. Try it! After all Our Father instructed us to LOVE those who persecute us. Awesome awesome book by a wonderful man of God.
Husband - Father - Speaker - Coffee shop theologian - Crusader of goodwill.
Dr. Quereshi is fast becoming one of my favorite new authors. His personal insight on the subject of Islam is unparalleled. The pain he lives through daily resulting from his choice to follow Christ is an example for all believers. I cannot recommend his works highly enough .
If you are a Christian, and you truly care about ALL people, then you must pray for and love muslim people. Dr. Quereshi offers a lens into the world of islam that will open your eyes to how to love a significant number of people who are devout, but not yet following Christ.
I enjoyed his first book more, but likely since it was more of his personal testimony on coming to Christ.
"Does what is says on the tin"
It is written in a fair, empathic way that is both informative and thought provoking.
